This is it. This is the final evolution of my snowflake art. I'm very happy with how these are coming out. I'm currently making 3 more at the moment! I wanted a way to proudly display the beauty that all starts with a single photo of a snowflake that I've personally taken. I sit out there in the cold as the sky peacefully drops snowflakes onto my canvas to photograph. I take not of the day, the temperature, the humidity, everything that makes this snowflake who it is. I then model the snowflake, making sure to get all the important details unique to that piece. Afterwards I sculpt details that I think lends itself to that snowflake's personality. I may be going too deep into it, but I'm truly finding the beauty in Nature's creation and I'm loving every moment of it. I can't wait to hang more of these on my walls.
Made on basswood with acrylic paints, borax, and masking tape on a diode laser.
