Idly sipping at his third beer, Will went through a good half of it before he even noticed. After a slightly concerned look down into the can, he glanced over at the soft bun who made herself so comfy at his shoulder. “So… what was that guy’s problem, anyway..?—If you don’t mind me asking. Sorry—I didn’t quite follow the first time around.”
“N-no um… I didn’t really say, actually…” Ashley quickly clarified, before shrinking down a little. “It’s just… um…” she squirmed a little, looking a bit more uncomfy in her seat now.
Feeling bad, Will said, “Hey, you don’t have to say anything if you’re not one hundred percent comfy sharing, okay Ashe?”
Ashley blushed a little, hearing her name in his mouth like that, and looked up to see the wolf turned to face her again. There the two sat, one set of eyes gazing into the other’s, something vulnerable in hers, something tender in his. Steeling herself, she looked back down. “N-no I… I want to. I-I mean, as long as you’re okay with it…” she said a little gingerly, to a reassuring nod from him, before asking a bit sheepish, “It’s just… Mmn… I guess it… feels like it’d be easier if I could um…” The dainty girl’s gaze fell upon his beer once more.
He knew what she was asking for, understood the reasoning. And the answer should be no, obviously. But wasn’t it a little late for shoulds or coulds by now? He stared hard at the can in his paw for a final moment’s consternation, then took a long gulp from it, leaving about a quarter left in the can before floating it back toward her paw.
Ashley’s eyes widened, surprised to see him actually give in, but she didn’t give him time to reconsider, taking it in paw and holding it close. Feeling emboldened, and all the more appreciative, she leaned into Will a little more, a small, bashful smile on her face, then she gradually sipped it down.
“At least it’s not a whole can, but I’m still a little worried… I mean even more than just how much trouble this could get me in… I guess I’m a little nervous how much it might affect someone so...” Will said, lowering his voice to a near whisper, as the blush in his cheeks burned a little hotter and his gaze wandered elsewhere, “so… small, and… young, I guess…”
He didn’t exactly want to say he was worried about her, but it was hard to word it any other way. It was getting harder and harder to hold the bun at arm’s length—not least of which because of how her body held close and conformed to his arm—and now it was her turn to blush, the sincerity in his words stoking warm, fuzzy feelings inside. She smiled, and pressing her luck, nuzzled just a bit into his shoulder.
The tension was obvious on Will’s face, but he did nothing to resist or even stir, just fixed his gaze anywhere else. He wanted desperately to stop blushing so much—even if, in his case, it was just a thin shade of red—but alcohol rendered that fight pretty futile at this point.
“R-right so um… that guy…” Ashley began, murmuring softly in deliberation. “We made out a few times… just you know um… little things like that, here and there… and well, one day things got um… h-hotter, heh…”
She looked cute the way she danced her words around the subject, all the subtle bits of bunny body language from how she fidgeted and stirred in her seat, but she also seemed to grow tense the more the subject dragged on.
“So um… c-...clothes s-started coming off, eheh…” she said, paws fidgeting with each other when not preoccupied with her hair, “And w-well um… when he t-turned back to look at me w-well… he um… he g-got this look on his face…” The bashful expression on her face began to falter under something a little more crestfallen, a look that made Will’s heart sink as he lost himself in her words.
“H-he got this look on his face and he said…” Ashley continued in weak little murmurs, “H-he said um… ‘Sorry dude, I’m not into that…’ and then he left...”
Will’s brows raised, ears perked, not quite getting it at first, though the weakness in her voice hit him immediately and he felt compelled to draw his arm around her and hold her close. “Hun…” was all he said at first, in a low, tender rumble, near her ear.
She just squeezed his arm even tighter. “He’d always go on about how ‘pretty’ I was… I… I guess that didn’t matter once he found out I um… I…”
Will stopped her with a paw by her cheek.
Again she felt a bit of surprise. Again the white fur of her cheeks turned another shade pinker. Was it really happening..?
Delicately he lifted her face toward his, their eyes meeting together once more. She stared in anticipation—searching quiet pools of amber, fathoms deep in tender care. Her own rose-colored eyes had begun to tear up, both from the difficulty recounting the scene, and from the walls breaking down between them, this new affection she’d finally found, she didn’t know he’d kept from her so long, and now having finally obtained it, she hardly knew what to do with.
“Ashley I…” Will said, scared of how close they were getting, all too aware of how the alcohol was affecting his judgment—and how little that frightened him, similarly… “W-whatever his problem was… I think you’re pretty, Ashley,” he said with a silly little smile, more than he’d ever shown before now.
Ashley stared wide-eyed, her cheeks turned a bright red that dared match her eyes. She really didn’t think she’d get this far… but then again, she’d been only sometimes conscious of what exactly she wanted out of this. But whatever it was, that want burned stronger now more than ever.
When she’d finally caught up to the moment, she felt momentum carry her forward. Her eyes fluttered near-closed and she leaned toward him, ever so subtly.
His heartbeat caught in his chest, shot through his ears as he saw it coming and felt not a single fiber of his being would resist. Her want resonated with his own, a want he’d never even considered—never allowed a moment’s space in his mind before, for fear of what it wrought. His lips parted, at first with a sigh, before leaning in to meet her.
Their lips met in the middle, something soft and simple, so tender and sweet in its innocence, that tricky, potentially scandalous circumstances the furthest thing from their minds. Thoughts of scenes just like this had intruded on Will’s mind before, but they’d always turn quickly into anxious worries of what could happen if he were caught—on top of worries that this might just be him taking advantage of her, hurting this precious little bun...—but he couldn’t spare the energy to worry about either, anymore. Those delicate lips touching his shattered any chance he had left of turning back. Even though a little touch was all it was before they separated all over again. “Ashley…” he groaned, weak to his passions, lingering nerves holding on even still, but melted loose for the moment.
When that initial heat of the moment had faded, she quickly threw her arms around his waist in tight squeeze and a cute little squeal.
Surprised at first, Will only smiled wider, holding her closer still, with a paw at the back of her head, carressing her hair as she nuzzled up against his chest, looking hot with blush.
“Y-you’re really sweet, Will…” she murmured so terribly cozy in his arms.
“Well then~” he chuckled in turn, “I guess I can’t really hide it... Honestly, you’re the prettiest girl I know, Ashley~”
She just whined a flustered, delicate little sound, already feeling near-overwhelmed after having all that tension finally come to a head.
They held each other like that for sometime, just hugging and holding close. His muzzle rested upon her hair, nose touching to it, breathing slow, gentle breaths, taking in her scent, letting his warm breath rest upon her, in and out, soft and slow, like a secret little dance, where the whole world was just an empty stage for them alone. He felt so relieved to share even just this little bit, but even still he couldn’t imagine how far they would take this.
When they finally got used to this tender embrace, Will spoke up. “So um… I guess that’s why you brought up the uh… the whole… chest thing, heh?”
“Mhm… sorta, hehe…” she answered, parting somewhat from the hug with a glance down toward her chest, then looking back up at him hesitantly, “Actually um… do you think maybe you uh… wanna… feel..?”
Will’s ears shot up with a second wave of blush, before quickly splaying back down as his gaze ran off to the side and a difficult expression formed on his lips. They’d already kissed, he’d already basically given up on doing the ‘right’ thing here… so what more could it hurt now, really?
But it was one thing to think it, and another to act. And if there really was a point of no return, this was probably it. A tipsy little kiss their friends might forgive, maybe. But touching her, like that?
His paw hid by his muzzle at first, as the anxious thoughts bounced around in his head some more, then hovered lower, chest-level, but still made no move to close the real distance between the two, however small.
So the rabbit cautiously reached for his wrist, the white fur of her cheeks saturated with a light pink blush. Rabbit and wolf together, slowly closed the gap, gradually leading his paw to her breast. She closed her eyes as it made contact, excited to feel a boy’s touch at her chest, especially since that touch belonged to this older, larger wolf, specifically.
He gazed down in a slight haze as he felt the soft, subtle mound at his beans. Soft and warm, small and tender. Delicate like angel cake. His paw moved all on its own, graciously accepting the girl’s willful invitation, now laying tiny little rubbing motions, then gentle squeezes, working up a ginger rhythm of caress.
His tail wagged hard. It was only a matter of time before he’d noticed, and he was only thankful Ashley didn’t catch it first… but then she did, anyway.
“Hehe… guess you like it, huh..?” she teased.
He grumbled, the burning red on his cheeks unavoidable even as he tried every possible excuse in his head, without a single one good enough. “It’s definitely boobs,” was all he had left to say—at least it broke the silence, he supposed. After that, he casually removed his paw and stuffed it back in his pocket, same as his other. He heaved a sigh, as that bit of satisfaction put his hormones in their place for just a moment, leaving his guilty conscience free to step back in. “We… really shouldn’t be doing this. You know?”
That only brought an impatient little whine out of the needy bun. “Will, c’mon…. I just… wanna be e-excited about this, y’know… and well… I trust you…”
He sighed again, aching in his chest from that deft tug of heartstring, still trying not to show it, “It’s not about if you trust me or not—if someone were to walk in on that...”
“But no one’s gonna! You said we could do this—you said your roommate’s outta town!”
“Ashley, I said we could maybe share alcohol. I didn’t say anything about… t-this…”
The two settled down for a moment at that, and an awkward silence set in that made Will start to regret he even said anything. Wasn’t that the right thing to say though? So why did he ache so bad for something more? Eventually it came down to Ashley to break the quiet tension, the murmur of her voice reaching out to him again with a simple, mostly innocent, question, “Do you… r-really think I’m that pretty..?”
And Will sat there, paws clenched in his lap, regret and want fighting a war inside his mind. But at this point, what else could he say? She deserved to know. So the wolf said, “...I’ve had a crush on you since before we met.”
