Ravyn always had piebaldism; he actually showed signs of it as a child. However, his stepfather absolutely hated these discolorations and forced Ravyn to hide them. This led Ravyn to struggle with self-confidence regarding his appearance. Even after running away, he continued to conceal his marks, which were gradually growing despite his efforts to hide them.

After the corruption markings covered most areas where the discolorations existed, he felt he had no reason to hide them anymore, as they were being “overwritten.” Following a purification ritual aimed at removing the corruption markings, a side effect sped up the progression of his condition, causing his marks to become larger and spread to more areas. Fortunately, after that initial surge, the growth has now slowed down again.
