It happened a few generations ago, where their great-great-great-grandmother got pregnant with a dolphin. Over time the dolphin DNA got diluted with otter. Though still some aspects of dolphin still manifests itself. For Lee, he didn't have anything physical appear, but for Jenny, her tail ended up with dolphin flukes.
