"A relationship as old as life itself...

Poor little rabbit. He had a good run, I'd wager. I'm sure he really gave it his all. I'm sure he pushed himself as hard as his tiny little body could allow. All with the hopes of escaping the wolf. All with the hopes of living to see another day...

None of it did any good. Exhausted, tearing up slightly, the poor little guy could only quiver at hearing the wolf's heavy, excited breaths nearby. He knows it's coming. Those jaws of death. He knows he's going to die. How in but mere moments, he'll be nothing more than a bulge on the wolf's belly, gurgling away...

It's terrifies him. Terrifies him to his very core. But there's nothing he can do. He's lost. The wolf has won. Such is the nature of the predator and the prey. The weak shall feed the strong. The strong shall prey upon the weak. If the weak cannot escape, they'll be consumed...

The rabbit, in due time, shall experience this truism all too intimately. But until then...

The wait is agonizing..."
