In Darkwitt's Setting, Magic is ubiquitous. Akin to a parallel branch of science in the arcane. It's somewhat of a gap in Darkwitt's own skillset that he struggles to fill.

Because of people like Drakonus.

Named after his legendary ancestor. Drakonus' family line were some of the few whom never fully fell into the sway of the Naga lords of the Serpentis Triumverate. and were integral in helping the rest of the world overthrow their naga masters.

However, Drakonus Virkin wished to follow the footsteps of his ancestor: who carved out a piece of the countryside in reverence to his own magical glory. In the hope to possibly replace the gap the Naga Lords left behind, and take his place ruling over all.

Cognizant seemed like a good fit to practice his recent Shadow Magic he's still attempting to master.

While he works as a professor of the arcane, his sorcery is kept well under wraps. with the idea that he could bluff his actual power until he was backed into a corner or had enough privacy to warp someone's mind to his whims.

Upon learning of Cognizant and of Darkwitt's affairs, he begun working towards better understanding the nature of it, as well as how it could help him attain his own rule in his namesake's legacy: the original kingdom of Lord Drakonus.
