3 was good. Never played the first but I really need to pick up the HD collection. The thing is that DmC "Dante" isn't Dante. As a result I've taken up the practice of referring to him as "Not Dante." They changed his personality and tons of other things about him to just turn him into a vulgar little shit rather than a demon hunter with style. I guess the commissioner just has terrible taste.
