This one is a big victory - it's the first image I've drawn without tracing anything. I also experimented a bit with shading and line work, and I think I'm getting closer to the sorta sketchy style from my AI works.
Pretty amateurish still. My lines are simultaneously too crisp and not crisp enough. The colors are too flat, and the general proportions are still a bit off. And I'm nowhere near ready to serious consider shadows. Next on the list is moving on to side views, more practice with the anatomy, and most importantly, developing a line style that I can be happy with.
Part of me is considering pivoting to a different style altogether. I really like the feels of my AI works, but part of me wants something simpler and cartoonier.
