The last couple of months have been… trying. Bad international news, multiple-hours-long power outages nearly every day, art block, etc. I had intended to finish this drawing in early November.
Anyway. Good news, I now have a screen tablet! Acquiring it yesterday was actually the impetus for me to finally finish this piece.
The background here is a photo I took in Ambohimanoro, in the upper/historic part of Antananarivo, back in late October. Plenty of places to enjoy the view up there, and so here we have Onja and Mijoro doing exactly that on a hot summer day.
Now, allow me to shake my head at myself for deciding to save time by using a photo as a background, only to then lose even more time by drawing both characters from scratch without references…
