Poor Eli is still too young to know the amount of honeyed words businessmen have to spit. The boy is naive and easily swayed, and that suits the wolf just fine.

Voight would give anything to savor the fear in Eli's eyes whenever he reaches a breaking point, but he didn't get to where he is by being stupid. He knows just the right time to issue praise, just what kind of sweet things could soothe the boy's heated heart.

And every time, despite the hesitation, sadness, and even outright anger in his eyes, Eli would melt into the wolf's paws, ready to be molded again and again and again.

Voight wants to call it calculated, but who's to say he couldn't harbor some love for Eli. How couldn't he? The bun is soft, demure, considerate of others, patient and rational in the face of hardship, and so, so cute.

But in his heart even he knows; he 'enjoys' the boy just as much as he 'loves' him.

---

I was a bit hesitant to upload this one. Voight came out alright but Eli's panel is kinda flat and uninteresting imo. I'd thought about redoing it entirely but I'd already started coloring and said screw it. Only got so much art time per diem y'know.

Any way, been wanting to do more with Voight lately. Like, actually make him a character instead of a looming threat over Eli's head. Course going into detail only further solidifies what a creep he is, but there's good in there somewhere. At least enough to occasionally comfort the bun instead of just hurt him 24/7.

Eli's naive enough for it to blossom into a painful adoration. He learned long ago he needs to take affection and acknowledgement where he can find it. Voight may want him just to hurt him, but it's still wanting him.

(3rd page is a pattern I was going to include in the background but couldn't work in. I liked it enough on it's own to throw in.)

With butt as big and soft as Eli's, and how innocent the cub is, I can see why Voight enjoys the cub so much. Really like the dynamic between these two!

The way I see it, Voight loves Eli the way only a predator could love prey.  It's in a predator's best interest to prolong and enhance their own satisfaction and create pathways for future predation.  He may not be literally devouring him like a feral wolf, but to foster something like fear and then consume it, well, he's quite the civilized predator.  It resonates with me a bit, so I could possibly sympathize with Voight, given enough information.

Now is a good enough time to ask this:  Eli's character sheet featured bite scars on his ear.  From Voight..?  He'd have to get pretty excited to risk exposure with a hard bite.  Even if not, I hope to see the scar explained some day.

I love that he called him a good kid. Despite being mean sometimes, it's adorable and sweet to see him calling the bunny something nice like that. Also, that wolf looks so cute and sexy there. You, Eli, always look adorable.

Like I've said, he's not always the worst. Keeps an eye on the bun when mom's busy, showers him with gifts every few months, even encourages his hobbies.

It's just...all that other stuff he does.

S'pose it's the price a bunny has to pay, to have a predator there for them.
