Story - Raina

Isac was a man who was well aware of his weaknesses. Chief among them: cookies. Particularly the ones that his friend Mary had baked, and especially the ones she kept hidden away in a giant glass jar on the kitchen counter. It had been years since he'd moved out, but his mother's cookies—soft, chewy, with just the right amount of chocolate—still haunted his dreams.

One quiet evening, after a long day of work, Isac found himself at Mary's home. The female kitsune had gone out, leaving the house empty and the kitchen wide open. It was his chance, his perfect opportunity. The jar was sitting there on the counter, taunting him, as though it knew he couldn’t resist. His eyes narrowed with determination.

"You’ve got this," he muttered to himself, walking toward the jar.

With a careful hand, he reached up and lifted the lid. The smell of freshly baked cookies wafted up, filling the room with a warm, sugary scent that almost made him swoon. He grabbed one of the golden brown cookies, barely able to wait for it to cool before taking a bite.

The moment he did, he felt a strange tingle run through him. It was almost like an electric shock, but instead of pain, it was a kind of overwhelming warmth, like his body was being gently rewired. Isac froze, blinking rapidly as his hand trembled and the cookie crumbled in his grip.

And then the world around him began to warp.

The kitchen grew, the counter rising like a mountain before him, and the air became thick with an odd, dream-like fog. His body, which had once been tall and fat, began to shrink rapidly, his arms and legs condensing into tiny, soft forms. His shirt, his pants, -everything but his glasses- disappeared into thin air. He felt a sudden change at his waist and looked down to find… a diaper. A big, fluffy, pastel-blue diaper.

His hands, now small and delicate, had turned into little white claws, and when he reached behind, he could feel something else—wings. They were small, soft, and delicate, fluttering awkwardly as he tried to make sense of the transformation. And then, without warning, his face… changed.

His nose softened into a tiny scalie snout, and his ears grew forked and triangular like fins. His once-human eyes took on an intense, gleaming shade of green, and his hair fluffed out into a lengthy set auburn locks. In a matter of moments, he had been completely transformed into a small, blue, anthro dragon toddler.

What had been Isac was warping around in the young dragon's head. Memories being replaced by new dragonic ones as his now her name shifted to Alice. All instances of the older name fading into the back of her mind as those memories were pushed back.

A tiny, wide-eyed dragon girl, complete with a diaper, wings, and an enormous, confused look on her face. She wobbled on her feet, her tiny claws awkwardly grabbing for balance as she tried to adjust to her new form.

But before she could even process the enormity of what had happened, the large glass cookie jar—still in her small dragon hands—tipped over and landed squarely on her head with a loud clunk.

Clink!

It was the perfect comedic timing.

Alice struggled, trying to free herself from the heavy jar that now encased her head, her small wings flapping in panic. She wobbled and stumbled, unsure of how to get the jar off her tiny dragon skull. She couldn’t even see, only hearing her own muffled squeaks as she struggled.

"ALICE!! WHAT DID I TELL YOU ABOUT THE COOKIE JAR?!"

The familiar voice made her freeze, her small body stiffening in shock.

Then, the door to the kitchen burst open. Mary, looking as stern and loving as ever, stood in the doorway. Her eyes widened, her mouth dropping open in complete disbelief.

The sight before her—her friend reduced to a tiny dragon toddler, wings and all, was enough to stop her in her tracks. She stood there, staring, unsure whether to laugh, or reprimand the new hatchling. her tails fluffing up in a confliction of emotions.

"ALICE!" she repeated, voice rising in shock and concern. "What in the world happened to you?!"

Alice's little hands, now too small and clumsy, pawed at the jar on her head, unable to dislodge it. Mary, still gaping, quickly rushed over and gently pulled the jar off Alice’s tiny head, revealing the full extent of the transformation.

For a moment, Alice simply blinked up at her friend, her big, wide green eyes filled with confusion and wonder. Her memories telling her that the kitsune before her, Mary was her adoptive mother. She looked down at her tiny dragon body, the fluffy diaper that now adorned her, and the soft, delicate wings twitching behind her.

Her mother, still in shock, gently placed a hand on her small shoulder. "Alice... sweetie, are you… okay?"

Alice looked up at her with a childlike expression, her head tilting slightly as she tried to make sense of it all. The words didn’t quite form in her mind, but the overwhelming feeling of comfort and safety did. And, strangely enough, she wasn’t scared.

"I’m… Me?" she squeaked, her voice coming out high-pitched and innocent. The little derg adjusted her glasses, head still foggy.

Her mother sighed, a mixture of relief and disbelief in her tone. "Yes you are now, what in the world happened to you?"

Alice’s wings fluttered slightly, and she giggled, one that was almost too adorable to handle. "I ate a cookie," she said simply, as if it were the most logical explanation.

Her mother blinked and sighed again, rubbing her temples. "Goodness, you really are a handful aren't you?"

Alice giggled again, her wings fluttering harder now as she tried to lift off the ground. She managed to hover for a moment before her tiny dragon body wobbled and her feet landed back on the floor with little clacks as her claws touched down.

"Flying is fun!" Alice declared, her attention shooting off to somewhere else. She flapped her wings once more, trying to get the hang of it. Completely forgetting her accident had ever happened

Her mother couldn’t help but smile at the sight of her little dragon daughter, wings fluttering awkwardly but with determination. She knelt down, brushing a stray lock of auburn hair out of Alice’s face. "Well, you’ve certainly got a lot of energy, I’ll give you that."

Alice beamed up at her mother with a a carefree, happy expression on her face. The little dragons wings flapping faster.

Mary chuckled softly, rubbing her daughter’s back. "You’ve always been full of surprises, Alice."

As Alice flapped her tiny wings, feeling the thrill of flight. She thought maybe she’d sneak a cookie or two, but for now, she was content learning to soar.
