Bubba had just fixed his teleportation machine with enough modifications to allow two beings to use it simultaneously. Dogday, being the charismatic leader he is, immediately offered to help Bubba with the testing. Bubba couldn't join Dogday inside the machine as someone had to operate it, and the rest of the critters were busy fooling around. Luckily, Dogday spotted Catnap sleeping on a tree nearby. After waking up Catnap, Dogday informed Bubba that they were ready. Bubba then started the machine with the two critters inside.

By a twist of fate, as the machine was being activated, Kickin's misdirected ball struck the console that Bubba was operating, causing a malfunction. A bright flash of light enveloped Dogday and Catnap, and when it faded, they emerged conjoined together from the other side of the machine, their bodies fused at the side. Though their heads and minds remained separate, they had somehow swapped control over their bodies: Dogday was controlling Catnap's body and vice versa.

Bubba ran after Kickin to make him pay for the mishap, while the rest of the critters looked on in shock. Meanwhile, Dogday and Catnap were left alone, sharing a conjoined body and grappling with their new reality. They were unsure how they would continue with their lives like this, especially considering their personalities were as different as day and night... quite literally.
