Alright so its been a long while since I've felt such a creative burst to both come up with a LOT of new fun heartwarming lore pair two old drawings together AND revive an old character but here we are and DAYUMN am I pleased with how it came out been anticipating drawing this since earlier this week.
Time to reintroduce a VERY old character with a new coat of leaves? This is Eschwold the soul of an ancient growth forest made real

As you wander the forest you stumble upon a dragon like form resting on a log surveying the great forest below, it looks content and at peace almost too immobile to be alive and is it naked? With the overgrown leaf like vest being the only clothing next to some carved wood bandings Eschwold turns to look at you with a smile before a small exhale signals its living status

And now for some backstory!
Eschwold or just “Escher” wasn't always what he was... centuries before the forest became as old and as vast as it is now, as the forest growth became more “alive” the power in it began to manifest small at first, travelling and observing loving all in the domain, the essence of the forest grew until the very plant life and things within formed a more solid form... a liaison a speaker and thus Eschwold took tangible material form and is now the soul of the forest and protector. Able to channel the powers of growth of the domain from the plants to the rocks he can speak for and protect the forest it came from, some think Eschwold sprung from a former defeated ethereal knight from another life... but that is just hearsay. But with the forest growing rapidly he can't protect it alone and a soon the discovery of a defeated and petrified former adventurer will lead to something grand...

Nothing like ending on a cliffhanger >:D
As you can see I've had a burst of inspiration and come up with quite a little story and some lore for Eschwold who started out as a very VERY old sketch ( still in my sketches gallery see if you can find him ;3 ) has since grown up and become a bit more lore infused I also had some fun tinkering with proportions and just getting a new feel and style going on. Oh and speaking of lore I also teased at pairing him and another drawing, turns out I finally found a way to work in an old “egg” adoptable I got that was already planned to be a protector ~.-.^ ( also in my gallery )
