When I designed and made my recent Kimberly Moonglow fursuit, I used a type of eyes which had worked fairly well on the two previous fox fursuits which I designed and built. The part of the eye I looked through was an iris painted onto a dark sunglasses lens. That worked fine on the earlier heads, with a built in fan system and air space between my face and the inside of the eyes. They fogged up a little, but worked okay if treated with an anti-fog wipe.
But the new Timberwolf head is super close fitting, with no fans or airspace at all, and most of the mask fits almost perfectly to my face and head. So... it fogged up a lot worse! After struggling for well over two years to make it work, I finally replaced the pretty glass lens eyes with more traditional buckram cloth eyes. Visibility is a bit 'grainy', since I am looking through painted mesh cloth. But over all, I see a wider unobstruced area, and it can't ever fog! I think she came out quite well, and the recessed 'follow me' eyes still work great.
And yes, the character design has black surrounding the iris of her eyes, like many real-life Timberwolves have no visible white area there. Also she looks rather crosseyed if viewed straight on, because of the recessed follow-me eye design.
That is me wearing the fursuit, which I designed and made. My daughter took these snapshots for me.
