I've just recovered the files for this from where I thought a change in system setup had wiped them (and, due to automatic syncing and the bad machine being the only one making backups, wiped them from the entire network 😱), so that was a good impetus to finally get around to uploading it.
I created this username in the golden age of bronydom, and loved the image of Owlowiscious carrying one of Twilight's scrolls to the princesses a la Harry Potter enough to pull the vector elements together for my avatar at the time -- as an author I also read that image as figuratively me delivering my stories to my readers. A couple years later my interest in the show/fandom dropped hard and a couple years after that I began feeling that the avatar being very obviously MLP was too much a relic of the times, so I recreated it as a photocomposition.
This looks a bit fuzzier than I'd normally be happy with at this "full" size (which is already 25% of the source pictures... compression and just camera quality wasn't good to them), but in this case I don't really care given how very much smaller avatars are usually displayed. Similarly, the lighting is what's required to not be a muddy blob when it's scaled down that far. It's all a very good example of how viewing experience dictates the art.
for the attribution and a description of the process. One of them is also CC-BY-SA, so similarly you can also do what you want with this image so long as you give credit and extend the licensing to your own modifications. (I'd appreciate you not using it for your own avatar to avoid confusion over who's who, but that's a personal courtesy rather than anything binding.)
