Wanted to write a small blurb in 8-bit format. Hardest part was finding (decent) 8-bit drum sounds! I stretched this 4-bar blurb out when the keys got out of control.
I've seen that term (bit crush) before but have no idea how to do it. Probably simple, like bringing a sample into Audacity and squishing it to a lower bitrate. Am looking specifically for NES-game sounds, which I could sample from .NSFs. Other than these guesses, I'm not sure how to squash the depth. Using FL Studio.

just don't think about it too much. people will tell you you need all sorts of stuff. You know what sounds sound like. make it sound like that. you can do it with anything. Analog is a little tougher but now in this age, jeepers, anyone can be a master musician/producer.
takes a little work listening and your ears get tired sometimes! don't stay in the box too long or you'll go crazy. making revisions and second third fourth guessing yourself. you don't have to do that.
