It was getting dark outside the building. The clouds drowned the sky and rumbled low. "A storm seems to be coming.." Eggman muttered, sitting at his desk. Tired from a long day of filling out orders to be shipped out in the morning. The office was quiet till the faint sounds of hooves clacking made the tall man look back. His lips smiled to see his little friend moving around after sleeping for most of the day. Blue; his quills and tail messy as always, yawned and approached Eggman. Gently placing his left hand on the back of Eggmans chair. His expression always so nervous. Always cautious. "W-what was that sound..?" The half hedgehog, half centaur asked. His body already trembling in fear. Eggman raised an eyebrow and looked out to the balcony window. "Oh don't worry!" He said reassuring. Giving the frightened boy a head pat. "It's just a rainstorm heading over us! It'll pass soon." He gave a big smile with a chuckle. "R...rain.. storm..?" Blue tilted his head. "What's that..?" The small horse turned to the huge window and walked up to it. The rumbling got louder as the droplets started to hit the window. Blue gasped and backed up. "He's here! No!" He yelped and rushed to hide behind Eggman. Who was now standing and starting to stretch out. His mustache twitched as he heard the little hog whimpering. "Blue.." he turned and got on one knee to be at eye level to Blue. "That's just the rain. 'He' will never come here.. You are safe." He gently grabbed Blues shoulder and rubbed. Watching the smaller one take deep breaths. His pupils slowly enlarging as he calmed down. "O-okay.." Blue said with a shaky tone. "Have you never seen rain?" Eggman stood back up and walked back to his desk to start cleaning up. "I uh... no? There were no windows in my area.. k-Keyling hated it when I tried breaking the glass.." The blue hedgehog went on while slowly approaching the window to watch the storm start. Eggman mumbled something under his breath but Blue couldn't hear. He reached his working arm out and pushed the window a bit. The wind making them swing open suddenly. Blue frozed and stared into the darkness as the rain poured in. "Blue?!" Eggman shouted. Rushing to his side to check if he was okay. "Hey! Come this way. Don't needing you getting sick." He said while grabbing the small ones arm. But Blue didn't budge. 'Blue..?" He didn't respond. Shaking, he took a step forward. And then another. Next thing he noticed he was outside. "Blue! It's raining please come back inside!" Eggmans words were muffled as Blues mind went blank. He's deathly scared of water. But this? The rain hit his fur and soaked his bandages. He raised his hand and watched as water slightly filled up his palm before dripping to the sides. He didn't understand. What was so bad about rain? He blinked and a shadow covered his head. Startled he looked up to see Eggman carrying an umbrella above him. "Are you okay?" He asked worried. Blue kept silent and went back to looking at the rain fall. "Hey?" Eggman asked again. This time Blue turned his head to Eggman. A faint smile on his muzzle. "Nice... This is really nice.." his eyes looked sad but Eggman couldn't see a tear on his cheeks. "Blue..? What's wrong?" Blue ripped his face and chuckled. "The sky is crying with me!" This made Eggmans eyes widen and realized that his little buddy was indeed crying. But never like this. As Blues face got redder from the tears the rain started to stop. They both looked up and placed the umbrella down. "I-it stopped?" Blue frowned. "Will it be back?" Eggman laughed a little and leaned down. Using his thumb to wipe away tears and rainwater from Blues face before giving his forehead a small kiss. "Of course! That's how the weather works." Blue smiled big and giggled. "I want to see the rain more! I like it!" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I wanted to draw writing. I'm not great at it and I struggle a lot with words but I did my best!
