Starting with the mask for version 1.0 of my anthro dragon costume, as cool as it looks, it's very unpleasant to wear, as it's very heavy, vision is heavily restricted, and it gets so hot in there that it can sometimes be difficult to breathe due to the total lack of breathability. Construction-wise, it started out as a paper mâché balloon, the snout and rear were then built up from cardstock, the whole thing was covered with more paper mâché, and then I individually cut out and installed black craft foam scales, added the teeth and small spikes, which are made from model magic, and added the large horns, which are insulation foam cut to shape and wrapped in red craft foam for smoothness, glued in some tissue paper for fire, and added black mesh behind the eye holes, finishing it off with a coat of paint. I'm very proud of it, but version 2.0 will be replacing this mask with something very different

The claw gloves are actually the only part I did not make myself, and instead bought on Etsy, because these are way better than anything I could've made myself, I have no regrets, and Version 2.0 will likely use these same exact gloves.

The tail for version 1.0 of my anthro dragon costume actually swings back-and-forth as I walk, and it attaches to my waist with 2 standard black leather belts. Also, don't worry about the missing paint, that was from a failed experiment, and will be getting fixed. construction-wise it's a long piece of felt folded over and stitched into pockets, which have been stuffed as much as I could. I then added a thin strip of automative serpentine belt along the top and bottom to minimize sagging, attached the tail membrane, which is a metal wire frame with plastic wrap lain on top and bottom, which were then fused with a heat gun, painted with red latex paint, and detailed with the same felt I made the tail itself from. I then attached the painted cardstock plates along the top, and scaled the rest of it with cardstock scales

The wings for version 1.0 of my dragon costume definitely need to be replaced, and relatively soon. Their framework is made of metal wire, which coils around and around a few times inside the backpack hidden in the middle. The wire framework was then covered in plastic wrap top and bottom, which was then fused with a heat gun, painted with red latex paint, and detailed with black felt, which I also used to hide the backpack. Unfortunately, these wings are already falling apart in multiple ways, there're tears in the plastic wrap, the layers of which are starting to separate from each other, and the metal wire is starting to punch its way through the plastic wrap. These will definitely be getting replaced in version 2.0, but I'm still proud of them.

Sidenote, I am NOT a furry. This is not a fursuit, and while I have many OCs, I wouldn't consider any of them a fursona. I literally made this as a Halloween costume, and the only times I could see myself wearing it again are Halloween, Ren Faires, and costume parties. I would NEVER wear this just for the heck of it, nor would I ever wear it to in public , nor to a con. I just want to make that clear
