Except that's not even an 'eating disorder' like pica or anything. Haxorus LITERALLY eat minerals as part of their diet canonically. (To the point that they do infact eat dirt)

It's also direct metal which he has shown to eat in the comic before, sentient or no it's really no different from hunting. I could probably guess those take higher priority over resorting to dirt if it's available.

All life IRL is sentient and most that we can visibly see are sapient to a degree. Bronzong is not a creature that can communicate with other creatures on the level that humans can. That being said, Pokemon canonically eat other Pokemon, even ones that can communicate on par with humans. Pokemon can communicate across species (though there's conflicts of this even canonically in game. Sometimes they can, sometimes they can't; Masuda claims that each species has their own unique language which is backed up by the anime in some instances as Meowth said he can't understand all Pokemon languages, only the ones he studied) even if they aren't noted to be as intelligent as humans. This is seen both in game, anime, and manga. Yet they still eat each other. In my comics, some aren't intelligent enough to communicate at all. They're no more than feral creatures. Bronzong is one of them. Not all Pokemon from the same species are intelligent, either. You might find an intelligent Rattata here or there, but most of them are feral. It is similar to Meowth from the anime series. Meowth is an exception to the rule. He was intelligent enough to learn how to speak Human language. But most Meowth aren't.

Mm. Makes sense. Reminds me of an old TFS joke- "Just because they're psychic doesn't mean they're smart." "But.. aren't psychics supposed to have unbelievable mental fortitude?"
