Almost twelve months without a significant relay...and now I'm finally back. (Missed me lately, folks?)

Apologies for the long lull, but since we last met (a.k.a. last Halloween's Danny the Dog portrait), yours truly has been caught up in all manner of music-curation, Wikipedia, geofictional, personal, and babysitting duties--so much so that I've been burnt out one way or another. Anyway...

Late on Friday the 4th, this r/furry pitch from one "CloudCandySkies" (Reddit; Instagram) caught my attention in the subreddit results for "requests":
" "I need to practice drawing more furries, I’ve been a furry since 2020 but I feel like my art is still lacking. So I’m sending this out to take some free art requests to get some practice in! These requests will most likely be bust shot! Drop a comment if you have a reference sheet on hand! I’ll dm you and send you your sketch!"

To which yours truly replied:
" "May I suggest to you two rabbit cheerleaders through DM (if you're still keeping track)?"

And received this in return:
" "Yes, I don’t mind at all!"

So off to RDT Chat it was, where CloudCandySkies gave the greenlight at 9:07 on Saturday morning, and I explained my case (as I also did before several other Redditors over the past several prior weeks):
" "To pull me out of a PostyBirbing lull that's lasted me almost a year, allow me to bring you two rabbit-cheerleader cousins--Lisa and Claudine. (Know a good surname to give them both?)⊙

"If only to make up for an incomplete deal I made with u/luvo_pop last year. (Sadly, she retired her commission line--and her Redditing--back in July. Tried reaching back days ago.)

"Best if you make them separate."

At 2:58 in the afternoon, CCS (the abbreviation we'll go with from here) replied:
" "Alrighty!! I’m at work atm but I get off in two hours, when I get home I’ll sketch them both up and send them your way! Thank you so much for trusting me with them!"

I was warned, all right--bust shots, watermarked. (Both were delivered by eventide; next time around, we're going full-body. But I'll take what I can get for now.) Because of babysitting duties (and a bit of sleep), I only reached back at ten:
" R: "At long, long, LONG last. Deal!"

CCS: "Thank you so much for this learning opportunity, I had a blast drawing them both! ^^"

And here we finally are--unfortunately, just as Florida is bracing itself for its third hurricane of the season. (First Debby in August, then Helene late in September...and now T/SP itself is a possible landfall target for the just-formed Milton. If this happens over the Bay, time to rewrite the history books.) Between these storms, climate change, and a governor who and whose team should resign sooner rather than later, the Sunshine State just can't catch a break, can it? (Re: my creative ambitions and wiki commitments as of late...well, nor can I!)

Relaying this two-piece set to IB and Patreon first, because DA and FA (where both will surface in the next how many hours) don't support multi-image submissions; please send feedback to both. And don't be surprised if I dump a whole lot more over the coming weeks; big storm coming, but huge backlog ahead. (If you're reading this commentary by Wednesday the 9th or so, please keep in mind that our power supply will most likely be cut off in Milton's wake, which will upend my PostyBirb and WP workflows more than they can already endure. [Since I've been a daily contributor at WP since this April, that also means a perfect streak (which I've intended to maintain for a whole year and change) will unfortunately snap before its time.]) Next time around, a squirrel-head sketch I did during the local, Helene-induced blackout.

Whatever happens, I hope I can try getting to Alfred H. Dixwell's final design before long. (Speaking of whom, my Unspooled project is currently seeking collaborators/assistants; if this pitch at r/WritingHub receives no takers before Monday afternoon, I'll try again at r/WriteWithMe. I sure need something cohesive to get that back on track...)

Until then, take care!

P.S. Amid RDT's API standoff last summer and highly loathed UI switchover in recent months, Pillowfort is looking more promising by the month. Trying my luck there only after Milton's passage.

P.P.S. Sooner or later, I may as well have to resort to OpenOffice Calc to keep better track of the images I receive--links and all. Experiment begins tomorrow.

P.P.P.S. Since two users on RDT, one of whom is on DA, have blocked me in the past couple of weeks alone, let this reminder go out: I have far more important things on my mind than blocking any good-faith account on any platform (or downvoting on RDT), so keep that in mind as you browse through my galleries/commentaries. Remember: If you don't like the image or the attitude, leave it alone and move on with your life/work. (Not to mention I'm a wiki-sphere veteran of 19 years' tenure.)

P.P.P.P.S. For those who really care about music--and artist's rights. (There's a reason I'll remain unsigned--thank you very much--once Score finally sees the light of day again on Miraheze.)

P.P.P.P.P.S. For those who really care about consensual adult content, digital/human rights...and more importantly, free speech. (There's a reason my geofictional utopias--Rogatia, Veritas, et al.--swiftly ditched politics and parties the very moment they could. No governments, no parties, no corruption, no right-wing/conservative forces, and no kakistocrats--they all operate on consensus and common sense à la WP, which I wish every other country in the real world took cues from in the future. Anyone care to help me revive the Sevton Saga for all of this?)

P.P.P.P.P.P.S. Backstory reminder: In the universe of the forthcoming Unspooled books, Adanson is the old Marigot, Dominica team behind a series of charity concerts during 2015-2020...and the Reflections music-video magazine from Kino Lorber and Paramount, currently on hiatus during its 12th volume. Adanson evolved into the KLPC (Kino Lorber Panama City) team for the purpose of Reflections, and is set to rebrand at the end of said volume. (Rumours are now going forth that K-Tel, the company behind Kids Incorporated back in that show's earliest days, is eyeing a purchase.)

P.P.P.P.P.P.P.S. Character count for this commentary: 7,602 per PstB.

⊙ Or a good, 1,000-word story sketch? Either way, send them in!
