"Meeting a legend"

When he'd heard his favorite Pokemon would be making a guest appearance at a nearby aquarium for Lugia Day, this lizard practically couldn't NOT go see them! From the moment he first saw Lugia there, he was continually wagging his tail in excitement, watching them the whole time... There was a raffle running to see who would get to swim with them later, and he REALLY hoped he'd win - it would make this already great day WAY better!

Happy Lugia Day! Would you believe it only occurred to me YESTERDAY that I could combine my Sinktember and Lugia Day drawings?

Squirtlerocks07 and I did an RP based on this.

S: today is a very very special day, it's Lugia day! And to celebrate, a local aquarium was having a special guest star, Lugia himself! A particular lizard was super duper excited about learning this and he rushed out of his home in a blink of an eye to go see lugia, since he was a MASSIVE fan of him... he later then got to aquarium where it was pretty packed, and he soon got over to the tank where Lugia would be, his tail wagging excitingly as he waits for him to show up

L: After a little while, there's finally something visible in the tank... Or rather, someone - Lugia! "Hello everyone, and thank you all for coming to this year's Lugia Day event!"

S: as soon as the lizard sees lugia, his tail starts to wag even more! His smile getting bigger then it already is
"Omg omg omg omg!!! It's actually lugia!!!"

L: There's cheering from just about everyone else in the crowd as well, and Lugia smiles as he looks over all of them. "It's always so nice to come by every now and then and see how many people are such big fans of me... We've got a little something interesting planned this time, as well. Who here, given the chance, would want to swim with me?"

S: what lugia just said made the lizard's mouth drop open in pure shock
"What?! Me! Me me me!!! 100% me!!!"

L: Most of the crowd clearly feels the same way as the lizard.

Lugia: "Well, this year, we've got a raffle going on, and the winner of it gets to swim in here with me for the day! You can sign up over there, and a winner is going to be picked out in about half an hour." He points to a booth near the crowd, where people can sign up for the raffle.

S: "Oh that is sooo cool!!! Oooh I really hope I win! That'll make this day even more awesome!" the lizard doesn't hesitate and runs over to the booth so he could sign up for the raffle, his tail constantly wagging

L: The lizard is the first to do so, and it takes about 10 minutes for everyone else to have done the same.

Lugia: "Alright, looks like you're all ready to go! Now, we've just got to wait and see who wins... Any questions in the meantime?"

S: the lizard stops to think for a few moments then responses
"Ooh! I got a question! Is it true that you can't actually breathe underwater?"

L: "It is! It doesn't come up often, since I can hold my breath for a few hours, but yeah, I do eventually need air."

S: "Wow... that's pretty interesting..."

a mudkip starts to speak their own question

Mudkip - "So do you actually have to come up and breathe every now and again? How are you gonna do that? That tank looks like it's completely sealed to me!"

L: "Well, the tank gets opened up whenever I need air, so there's nothing to worry about. If all else fails though, I could probably break through the top, but I'd rather not do that."

S: some of the crowd members give a slight giggle

"Oh ok, that's good I guess"

more people get their questions answered and a little while later, it was time for the raffle to begin!

L: A dragonite that seems to work at the aquarium comes up to the crowd. "Everyone, if I can have your attention; we've got the results of the raffle!"

Lugia: "Ah, here we go! Let's see who it'll be!"

S: Lizard - "Please be me....please be me...." the lizard crosses his fingers, his tail still wagging a little

Mudkip - "Come on..."

Blue Snake - "Please..."

a few members of the crowd are closing their eyes and crossing their fingers too

L: The winner is announced... And it's the lizard!

Lugia, not recognizing the name, looks through the crowd. "Alright, come on over, whoever you are!"

S: the lizard's mouth drops open again and wags his tail even more excitingly as he won! He goes over to the middle of the outside of the tank and smiles happily
Lizard - "No way!!! I actually won?!?! This is a dream come true!!!!"

Mudkip - "Awww rats!"

Blue Snake - "Seriously? Ugh..."

S: Lizard - "Are you kidding?! I'm super excited!!! You have no idea how big of a fan I am of yours! I've been liking you ever since I was just a baby!!! This is such an honor!"

L: "Well, I bet we're gonna have a lot of fun in here together! And if you're not good at holding your breath, don't worry, I can blow bubbles for you to breathe."

S: the lizard blushes shyly
"I'm decent at holding my breath, can probably last like 7 minutes, but with me being excited like this? Then I'll probably be less...heh..."

L: "Ha, yeah, I imagine so. I've got as many bubbles as you need, so don't feel bad about asking. Now, how about you head to the top of the tank so we can get started on our swim?"

S: "Ok yeah!" the lizard finds a flight of stairs that leads to the top of the tank, he goes up the stairs and to a little ledge where the top of the tank sits, he looks down at the water below... he's a bit nervous deep down as he hasn't swam in a while

L: Some staff open the top of the tank, and Lugia pokes his head up through it. "Alright, hop on in whenever you're ready!"

S: "Oh man...this is really happening! I can't believe this!" the lizard gets himself ready, then slowly lowers himself into the tank's water below, he sighs happily at the pleasant temperature of it, looking at lugia face to face with a huge smile on his face

L: "You know, it's been a while since I swam with someone your size... And I imagine it's your first time swimming with someone so big!"

S: "Yeah, this is so surreal...you look so huge when I'm up close to you like this, amazing... you think I could...get a hug?" the lizard blushes a tad bit more "That'll really make my day"

L: "Of course!" Lugia only really needs one hand to give the lizard an effective hug, gently holding them against his chest.

S: "Hehehehe...." the lizard's tail wags even more, splashing a bit of water around as he hugs lugia back, sighing happily "Your hugs are so warm! Thank you!"

L: "Anything to make this even better for you! Now, how about we head under so we can relax down there together?"

S: "S-sure! Sounds like a good idea.... except uhh" the lizard looks down at the water "Haven't gone underwater in a bit...been so busy lately that I haven't swam in a ages, I'm a tiny bit nervous...."

L: "Ah, I know how that can be. Haven't felt like that myself, but I've heard of others having trouble with it. Nothing to be worried about, especially with me here!"

S: "Yeah...I guess your right, I hope I'll be able to dive under with you, I don't wanna chicken out when I won the raffle! This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me!"

L: "Exactly! You'll really end up regretting it if you don't take this chance, 'cause you probably won't get another!"

S: "Yeah! I'll definitely be pretty upset if I chickened out... alright, let's go under then together! I'm gonna do this!" the lizard starts to take some deep breathes

L: "That's the spirit!" Lugia does some deep breathing as well, likely more to keep his bubbles more fresh for longer than to actually stay under longer.

S: but before they could dive, the lizard stops for a moment
"Uh oh... I forgot, I need swim goggles... I'm not gonna be able to see down there without them!"

L: "Ah, right, not everyone can see underwater without those. Seems someone thought of that though!"

The dragonite from before comes over to the lizard, holding out a pair of goggles to them. "Sorry for the delay, these weren't where I thought they were."

S: "Oh, phew... thanks!" the lizard takes the goggles from the dragonite and puts them on over his eyes
"There we go, now I feel much better"

L: Lugia: "Alright, NOW we're ready! We're gonna have a lot of fun down there!"

S: "I sure hope so! I gotta make this worth it!" the lizard then takes a couple more deep breathes before eventually taking a one big breath and holding it, his cheeks slightly puffy as he dives underwater, waiting just below the surface for lugia to come down too

L: Lugia takes one more deep breath before diving under to join the lizard, smiling at them. Their mind starts feeling a little strange, before they hear Lugia's voice without his mouth moving. "So, you probably can't talk well underwater, right? We'll use telepathy instead. Just think what you want to say while intending for me to hear it, and I'll hear it."

S: the lizard was a bit surprised as he heard Lugia's voice in his head...having never done telepathy before, he thinks of a response while letting loose of some tiny bubbles from his nostrils
"Whoa, this is pretty cool! I've heard of telepathy before but never actually got to see it in person, this'll definitely help me keep my air in and such!"

L: "Yep, it's pretty handy underwater! Don't have to waste any air on talking out loud!"

S: "Yeah! That's a good thing, considering I'm not the best breath holder and all, anyways...what are we gonna do on our dive lugia?" the lizard floats down a bit deeper and let's loose of some more bubbles, his face just a hint of red

L: "Well, we're not alone in this tank, there's some fish around we can hang out with. There's also that shipwreck prop down there we could explore, but I don't imagine there'll be much to see in that."

S: "Hmm, decisions... I do wanna make those other guys jeleous that I won and they didn't heh, then maybe we can just hang around with those fish you mentioned"

L: "Heh, we can start out with teasing the others a bit if you want, I don't mind!"

S: the lizard smirks playfully, his cheeks slightly more puffy then before
"Sounds like a plan then, let's do it!"

L: Lugia swims back to the window with the lizard, and switches to talking out loud so the crowd can hear. "Better luck next year, huh?"

S: not minding that he'll waste air, the lizard talks out loud too
"Yeblah! I wblin! Yblou losble! Na na nbla na!!"

Mudkip - "Grrrrr..... your so lucky!"

L: There's assorted grumbling from the crowd at the taunts, particularly from the blue snake.

Lugia: "You all can still watch as much as you want, of course... And just imagine how great it would be if it were you in here instead!"

S: Blue Snake - "This is so not fair!! I'm the biggest lugia fan here! I should have won that stupid raffle! Ughh!!!"

Lizard - "Heblhe...too babld sblo sblad, I'm a tblrue lublgia fblan hblere!"

L: "Hey, it's perfectly fair, you all had an equal chance! Not my fault this lizard's luckier than you all!"

S: Blue Snake - "Grrr why I outta!"

Mudkip - "Ughhh..."

Lizard - "Hehehble!!!" the lizard sticks his tongue out at everyone

L: Lugia, through telepathy again: "Let's not antagonize them too much, I don't want to end up losing fans over this."

S: the lizard stops talking, his face now pretty red at this point, then goes to telepathy again
"Fine.... I just can't help that this is so fun!"

L: "Are you doing okay on breath? Your face is getting red, and I don't want you to be uncomfortable."

S: "Oh, I hardly even noticed... I mean I feel fine, I can go a bit longer if I wanted to, but I guess you could give me a bubble"

L: "Alright, here." Lugia brings his fingers to his lips and blows a big bubble, holding onto it and offering it to the lizard.

S: "Pretty sure I remember how to do this..."
the lizard takes the bubble and slowly inhales it, his face returning to normal
"Ahh, much better...thanks! Now let's go hang with some fishes!"

L: "Remember to ask for air whenever you're feeling uncomfortable, it'll take a LONG time for you to run me out. And hey, how about you just hold onto me instead of swimming? Unless you'd prefer going on your own."

S: "I don't mind holding onto you so ok!" the lizard goes over and holds onto lugia, his smile getting even bigger

L: Smiling back, Lugia swims deeper with the lizard, heading toward a group of fish. They don't seem to mind the presence of either of them, swimming around the two.

S: "Hey little fishies! Hehe" the lizard reaches out to pet one of the fish gently, the pressure is luckily not that bad here and the lizard can handle it ok

L: The fish happily swims closer to the lizard, letting him pet them. A few others soon come over to the lizard as well, wanting to join in.

S: "Awww... so cute!" the lizard giggles out some bubbles and continues to pet the fish, he pets the ones that come closer to him to as well, being very gentle

L: Soon enough, quite a few fish have gathered around the lizard!

Lugia: "Ha, you've made a lot of friends there, huh?"

S: "Hehe! They all seem to really like me! Hmm, I've got a cute idea" very carefully, the lizard wraps his arms around all the fish who have come to see him, giving all them a gentle hug

L: All the fish do their best to hug him back with their fins.

Lugia: "Aw, that's really cute!"

S: "Look at them! They are all hugging me with their little fins, how adorable! What a wholesome moment..." the lizard smiles happily at all the fish, keeping them in the hug for a bit longer before releasing them

L: Lugia: "Even I don't usually don't end up having fish hang out with me like that!"

All the fish are clearly happy with the lizard, and continue to stick around for a while.

S: "Hehe, guess I have the magic touch" the lizard sits down on lugia's huge body, closing his eyes and relaxing, his face just a tad bit red "Think for now, I'm gonna just be relaxing here with you in my presence, maybe see if I can improve my breath holding even"

L: Lugia lays back so the lizard is sitting on his belly. "Alright then, I always like helping people out with breath holding practice!"

S: "That's good, I definitely need to improve... with only a 7 minute breath hold I feel like I could do better, heh" the lizard then gets comfortable on lugia's belly and now starts to relax, pinching his nose shut and trying not to let any air loose

some of the crowd members notice the lizard relaxing and gather around to watch

L: "Yeah, you've definitely got quite a bit of room for improvement... I bet you'll already be doing better by the time we're done for today!"

S: "You really think so? Well I certainly hope your right on that" the lizard continues to relax and calmly hold his breath, about 5 minutes have passed and he's already doing way better! His face a little less red then last time

L: Lugia keeps watching the lizard hold their breath, able to tell they're doing better. He idly blows a few little bubbles as he relaxes as well.

S: It's now been past the lizard's record and he's still going, about 10 minutes have passed now...the crowd can see the lizard's fully red face and gets excited, but soon it turns a bit blue and he grunts a tad in strain, keeping his nose pinched shut

L: "You're doing really well, just keep on hanging in there..." Lugia smiles at the lizard, though he stays ready to make a big bubble for the lizard whenever they decide to ask for one.

S: the lizard is smiling as well as he knows he's well over his record...he keeps going and going, eventually his face is turning purple after 14 and a half minutes, he opens his eyes to look at lugia while whimpering

L: "Alright, here!" Lugia quickly blows a big bubble and passes it to the lizard. "Great job, you went for SO long!"

S: the lizard immediately inhales the bubble and sighs happily
"I sure did! I don't know by how long but I know that's definitely a new record for me!"
little do both of them know, the aquarium is planning on closing pretty soon

L: "How about we just relax for a while now, so you can rest after that? I know I get pretty tired after I push myself that far."

S: "Sure, sounds like a good plan to me...I am pretty tired" the lizard lays down on lugia's belly and closes his eyes to rest for a bit

most of the crowd has unfortunately left since the aquarium closes in less then 10 minutes, it seems the lizard's fun with lugia is gonna come to a screeching halt soon

L: After the two relax for a little while, they hear someone talking on an intercom. "Unfortunately, the aquarium is closing for the day in a few minutes. Please make your way to an exit soon. We hope you'll come by again!"

Lugia: "Ah, darn, guess that's gonna be it..."

S: "Aww no! It's over?! No way I don't want it to be over! This has been incredible" the lizard visibly starts to tear up, clearly very upset that he has to leave

"Y-you can't make me leave now! This has been amazing!! I don't want it to end!!"

L: "Sorry, but it's not up to me, I'm gonna have to leave too. There's always the chance we'll meet again sometime, though!"

S: "B-b-but..." the lizard whimpers more and covers his face as he cries, all this wasting his air in the process, he's really really sad

L: Lugia gives the lizard a hug as he starts swimming up to the top of the tank with them, some of the staff opening the lid again so the two can surface.

Lugia: "Hey, you're still way better off than the others that came here, you're the only one that got to swim with me!"

S: the lizard gasps in the air when they surface and wipes away some tears as he takes his goggles off
"I guess so... but still, i wanna be with you...I don't wanna leave you... what if I don't end up seeing you again for a long time? I don't want that!"

L: "I know, there's nothing either of us can really do about that... But, here, maybe this'll make it at least a little better for you." Lugia pulls a feather from one of his wings and offers it to the lizard.

S: the lizard takes it
"A feather? Well thanks... but I don't think a feather will be enough to not make me sad anymore... I just really wish I can stick with you for just a while longer" the lizard tucks the feather away in his pocket for now, his teary eyes looking up at lugia

L: "You know... I don't really have anything else to do today, and all we really have to do is leave HERE... We could still hang out outside for a while, if you want."

S: "R-really? Well yeah! I'll love that very much! L-lets do that then" the lizard wipes away some tears and smiles again

L: "Alright then, let's go! And maybe I can show you what it's like to fly as well, if you're up for that."

S: "Yes....please!!! That'll be epic!!!" the lizard's tail starts to wag again

L: Lugia leads the lizard outside, where he crouches down so they can get onto him. "Alright, hold onto me tight!"

S: "Ok!!" the lizard gets on lugia and holds onto him tight, a huge smile on his face

L: With the lizard secure on him, Lugia jumps up and flaps his wings, launching up into the air!

S: "Whoaaa!!!!" the lizard keeps holding onto lugia tight as they take off, laughing happily "So awesome!"

L: "Even with me always being able to fly, this never really gets old!" Lugia gets quite a bit of height before starting to glide.

S: "This is amazing!!! Wheeee!!!"
and so, the lizard and the lugia bond for the rest of the day, flying around and gliding around and having so much fun, it seems like this lizard has made a very special friend, all thanks to winning the raffle he won at the aquarium
