It was the end of the school day, and many cubs went home. The ones that didn’t stayed at after school care, which was combined with the local daycare. The vast majority of cubs who were there were either too young to go home on their own, or they lived too far away. The latter also went for the 6-year-old hyena named Elioth. A friendly cub, yet a pushover, who has to wear diapers due to a recent car crash. Fortunately for him, his friends don’t know that he’s in diapers, cause they would definitely tease him about it.
Between his friends was a 7-year-old panther named Pierre. He was the worst bully in the class, and didn’t hesitate to poke fun at someone for whatever reason, something that Elioth always told him off for. While Elioth was friends with him, he also feared him, especially now that he wore diapers. Pierre and Elioth always had a friendship with lots of teasing, but now Elioth wondered if the panther would take it too far.
Also in the friend group were a 7-year-old raccoon named Samuel, who was also known for his teasing, despite being in pull-ups himself, something that Pierre didn’t know about. He frequently made fun of Elioth in the past for various things, and is sometimes worse than Pierre
The daycare had 2 major rooms, one in use for the toddlers, and the older students who would arrive before the others. The latter room had books, toys, board- and card games, as well as costumes. While Elioth liked those things, a lot of them were frowned upon by his friends and considered too babyish.
As the caregivers led them inside, Elioth’s friends greeted him as they finally saw him.
“Elioth!” Pierre ran up to his friend and gave him a surprise hug, not noticing the crinkling that was caused by it. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah I’m fine now fortunately,” Elioth replied with a smile as he hugged the panther back, though worrying about his diaper being noticeable.
“We were worried about you.” Samuel said, glad as his friend was okay after the accident.
Just then, they saw another cub walk in, a lynx who looked no older than 5, and was the newest student at the daycare. He also still visibly wore a diaper.
“Look at the little baby!” Pierre said a little too loud, causing the lynx’s eyes to droop.
“Leave him alone,” Elioth sighed.
“Why, feeling called out?” Samuel asked.
Elioth was scared once he heard those words. “Wh-what do you mean?”
“So you really thought that we forgot about you being a bedwetter?” Pierre chuckled.
Ethan blushed, but was glad that they didn’t know about his diaper. “It was a one time thing, and it was a year ago!” He replied.
“If you say so!” Samuel chuckled.
Elioth contemplated about exposing Samuel’s secret, but figured out that it would be unnecessarily cruel, as well as it being risky due to him wearing diapers himself.
“Come on cubs, to the table,” The caregiver, a brown bear named Ella, led the cubs ranging from five to nine years old to the table, where they ate their lunch.
“Good afternoon cubs, today we have a new student at the after school care,” Ella introduced the lynx. “His name is Benjamin, and I expect you to be kind-’ She said before being interrupted.
“Why do you wear diapers? Are you a little baby?” Pierre asked teasingly, causing the other cubs to either burst into laughter or just wait awkwardly, Elioth doing the former as he notices Benjamin’s ears drooping as he stammered “Notta baby,” and he feels bad for the lynx
“Now, now kids, Benji has to wear them for medical reasons, just like some of you do as well,” Ms, Ella explained. “So try to be kind to him, I’m sure he can use it.”
“All right Ms,” All but Samuel and Pierre replied, as the raccoon and panther continued to chuckle.
The cubs ate their lunch, before being allowed to play again.
“Wanna play a card game?” Samuel asked.
“Sure,” Elioth replied, but the hyena starts wetting his diaper. “But I’ll be right back, have to go to the bathroom,” He excused himself.
“Just don’t pee yourself!” Pierre chuckled.
The hyena just blushed nervously as he waddled towards the toddler daycare area, where he was instructed to ask his mother, one of the caregivers there, for help. But as he tried to find her, he noticed Ben following him. “Hi buddy,” he greeted the lynx as he finished peeing, in the end, his diaper ended up leaking, wetting his shorts.
Benjamin greeted him back, but noticed the hyena’s diaper peeking out. “D-do you also wear d-diapies?” he innocently asked.
Elioth blushed furiously. “Y-yeah, yeah I do.” He replied.
After a while, the lynx said, “D-dun worry, I won’t t-tell anyone.”
“Y-you promise?” Elioth asked. “I don’t want my friends to know,”
“T-th-thats okie,” Benjamin replied. “D-do they make fun of you?”
“Yeah,” Elioth nodded. “And I don't want them to make fun of my diaper.”
“Yeah, but even if th-they find out, I’ll be yew friend.
“You’re cute, you know that right?” Elioth said as he gave Ben some head pats.
“Th-thanks,” Ben smiled.
Just then, Elioth spotted his mother as she exited one of the storage areas. “Mommy,” He said as he waddled towards her, gently tugging her sleeve.
“What’s wrong sweetie? Had a little accident?” She asked as she knelt down towards his level.
“Yeah, I leaked,” Elioth softly admitted. “Please don’t be mad.
“Oh sweetie,” his mother said as he gave Elioth a hug. “You’re not in trouble, I know it must be hard for you.”
“Can’t I just wear normal undies, or even pull-ups?” Elioth asked.
His mother shook her head. “I’m sorry sweetie, but the doctor said that diapers are the best,” She explained. “Plus you’ve already wet your diapers to the point where it leaked, so pull-ups would be no help.”
“All right Mommy,” Elioth said, hiding his defeat.
“And Benji, do you also need a change?” she asked, as she noticed the lynx.
“Yes p-p-please,” Ben nodded.
“All right, follow me.” Elioth’s mother led them to the changing table, and laid down her son on it. “So do your friends know that you’re in diapers?” She asked.
Elioth shook his head. “N-no, I really don’t want them to know, they’ll make fun of me.”
His mother gently changed him. “Oh sweetie, I understand, but they’re your friends, you shouldn’t be afraid to tell them the truth.” She assured him.
“I’ll think about it,” Elioth said.
“I know you won’t,” his mother sighed. “But I understand.” She added as he lifted her son off the changing table and giving him a kiss, before turning towards Ben. “You turn Benji.”
“All right Ms.” Ben said as he was picked up and layed on the changing mat, before gently getting changed.
“All right, you two are done!” Elioth’s mother said after she was done with Ben. “But there’s one small problem.
“What is it mommy?” Elioth asked.
“Well you leaked, but I forgot to bring spare clothes for you,” She replied.
“S-so I have to stay in my diaper?” Elioth asked as he grew more panically.
“I’m afraid yes,” His mother replied.
“All right then,” Elioth said as he tried to look calm, but panicked from the inside.
“Should we go b-back?” Ben asked.
“S-sure,” Elioth said, knowing that there was no way around it.
“All right, see you around sweetie,” Elioth’s mom gave her son another hug. “And remember, I really find you brave.”
“Thanks mommy,” Elioth said as he gave his mother a kiss, before they went towards the after school care part again. “So Benji, what things do you like to do?” Elioth asked.
“Well I like read-ding, p-playing guit-tar and p-pla d-dress-up.” Ben listed.
“You can already play guitar?!” Elioth said in surprise and amazement.
“Uh-huh, I’ve b-been t-taking lessons for a while.” the lynx replied, wagging his tail.
“That’s amazing, I wish I could play an instrument.” Elioth said.
“Well what d-do you like t-to d-do?” Benji asked.
“Well I like gaming, playing outside, and watching movies,” Elioth replied.
“Sounds fun,” Ben smiled, before asking. “Why d-do you wear d-diapers?”
Elioth blushed. “Well I have to wear them after a car crash, but I haven’t been in them for very long,” He explained. “And you?”
“Well my b-bladder d-doesn’t work well, someth-thing about nerves,” Ben replied, not understanding fully himself. “B-but one th-thing is clear, my mommy and daddy aren’t as nice as yours.”
“Do they get angry at you?” Elioth asked.
“Uh-huh,” Ben nodded, his warm smile slowly fading.
Elioth froze in his spot and turned towards Benji, before giving him a hug.
“Th-thanks,” Ben smiled as he returned the hug. After a while, he asked Elioth. “Are you sure th-that y-you’re read-dy to go inside?”
“Well I can’t wait forever,” Elioth sighed. “Come on.”
The two cubs went inside the play area, where Pierre and Samuel noticed them almost instantly.
“Elioth, what took so lo-oooooong” Pierre asked, noticing Elioth wearing a diaper mid-sentence. “Are you in diapers?”
Elioth blushed furiously, but nodded slightly.
“No way! You still need diapers like a little baby?!” Samuel snickered loudly despite wearing pullups, poking fun at the hyena.
“I can explain…” Elioth softly said.
“Save it, you just can’t stop pissing yourself!” Pierre chuckled. “It was bad enough that you’re a bedwetter.”
As the teasing continued, Ben couldn’t stand and look. “Leave him alone!”
“Aww, how cute,” Samuel chuckled.
“The little kitten wants to act tough,” Pierre also laughed.
“I’m not acting th-tough, you are just b-being mean!” Ben pointed out, but it didn’t stop the teasing.
By the time that Ms, Ella found out and approached the cubs, Elioth was already reduced to tears.
“What’s going on here?!” Ella asked.
“Well Elioth is still in diapers, can you believe it Ms?” Samuel replied.
Ms, Ella frowned as she realized what the teasing was about. “Pierre and Samuel, I’m very disappointed in you!” She said. “You two know that Elioth has been through a lot, and for you to make fun of him, awful.”
“Sorry Ms,” Pierre said apologetically, while Samuel just shrugged.
“Both of you will be going to time-out, so you can think about your behavior.” Ella said.
“All right Ms,” both cubs reluctantly complied, as Ella sent both of them to an individual corner.
Meanwhile, Benjamin started comforting Elioth with hugs. “Sssh… it is okay,”
“I-I j-just wanted things to be normal.” the hyena sobbed.
“I know sweetie.” Ms, Ella replied. “And while things might not go as they were, you can try to make the best out of it.” She assured him.
“All right Ms,” Elioth replied as he slowly stopped crying.
After seven minutes, Pierre and Samuel were allowed to go out of time-out, as the rule was one minute for each year a cub was old.
“Do you two have something to say to Elioth? Ella asked.
“Sorry Elioth,” Samuel says.
“Yeah, we’re really sorry,” Pierre added. ‘We shouldn’t have made fun of you.”
“It’s okay,” Elioth said as he gave both of them a hug. “Wanna start that card game?”
“Of course!” Pierre replied.
“C-can I join?” Benji asked.
“Sure,” Elioth replied, which Pierre didn’t mind, but Samuel did. They went to sit at one of the tables, and started playing, their bond havin
