I asked Leo if there was any lore to the character first, but the idea I have is that he's just a bear boy who loves sweets and dreams of having his own bakery. For now he's just wanting to try every dessert he can get. The kid has a massive sweet tooth, but not really for candy. He wants that savory.
He's also a quarter care bear. Don't ask me how that works.
