"Got you trapped in my crop, little mousie... Now start talking if you want to see the light of day again, or I'll send you down to my gizzard where you'll be crushed and digested alive!!!"

Belated Bday gift for LucasVN on FA

And no, Orion doesn't have any intention of digesting Colby. He does have sadistic tendencies and a love for torture, but at the same time, he likes Colby and wouldn't want to really hurt him. But still, it's no reason not to be himself for a bit! >=3

A lot of birds actually have a two part stomach: a proventriculus (or a glandular stomach) and a gizzard (a muscular stomach.)   The proventriculus serves a similar function to a mammalian stomach.  A gizzard is there because, unlike mammals, and other creatures, with teeth, birds don't have any, and the gizzard serves to grind up food.

I know all of this as I looked it up, as in one of my stories, a bird, who meets a family of bats, pretends that he has three stomachs (a crop, proventriculus, and gizzard), when really it's a storage crop and a two part stomach, so that he'll be given extra food.
