Inspired by the cover album "The Golden Age of Wireless" by Thomas Dolby For the series of pictures of the favorite Croc's albums.
I was listening the album while working on this piece. It is that kind of 80's synth-pop that I've been listening lately obsessively, that I'm sure if I had grown on that age I would have been even more obsessed with.
The cover art is as strange as this picture, there were many elements that I was copying while thinking "What am I painting here?", so it was like solving a puzzle.

Digital. Procreate / Photoshop.
See the short time-lapse process video on on the first comment of this submission on my Telegram channel: https://t.me/panda_paco (At least the part I did with Procreate, since that's the software that automatically records the process, so the composition and lettering is not shown on this video, since those were the Photoshop part)
Ah, now you're speaking my era of music. Way back in the 80's there was a Thomas Dolby concert film that got aired on a local independent tv station which was eventually released on VHS. Clips of the concert film are on Youtube and some of the live versions are arguably better than the studio versions- take this much more up-tempo live version of "Europa and The Pirate Twins": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QY2KnST2NDA and there's this live version from the same show of "One of Our Submarines" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3atTP6hqlg I like that Dolby has a prop periscope at the start of the song that has descended from the venue's ceiling. Also of note is that weird electronic drum kit that is being used.
Now I wish I still had my old 80's web radio show archive still up- had a lot of tunes that you'd likely enjoy a lot.

The main set of space-age looking drums are indeed called Electronic Drums, and they are really percussive synthesizers, just as programmable. And of course Dolby, in all his youthful whimsy, would rig up an electronic mini-marimba for his drummer to hit with squeaky hammers during this number.

I bought this album new, still have it, and indeed it just rotated out of my daily vinyl selection for household BGM. And yesterday I was AT a record store, and saw two releases of this album each with totally different cover art, and both missing 'Science'. And now Our Host submits this entirely flattering and very faithful rendering of that original landmark album cover. Spooky. Thanks to Our Host for sharing this fun artwork today.

Just looking at the thumbnail, I read the title and immediately thought "the blank age of wireless... is this..?" and it WAS. So much great music, and I bought the DVD of Howard The Duck for the song Hunger City, which was written by Dolby. Absolutely love your rendition of this classic album!
