Jackalys is one of the more unusual residents of Huailina, and has started to become a regular of Schmorgaswaffle to Shir Scrabble's amusement. Often known for her eclectic dress sense and often referred to by less tactful employees and common visitors as 'disaster lesbian chic', her dress would certainly draw attention even were it not for her startlingly black appearance. Many often describe her as a 'hole in the universe' when she fails to do a bit of touching up and powdering of her fur of her anthro portion, as her fur seems to absorb all light save for where the bone-colored markings peer through or where her luminescent flesh can peer through from beneath. Her tail, likewise, would be described as almost latex-like in texture, and would be similarly dark were it not for the strange flecks of light which appear within its flesh and the way the smooth yet indescribably tough hide reflects glossily. It makes for a striking, and often unnerving appearance to those unused to her presence, as her eyes looking at someone often are referred to as 'diamonds shining from an infinite void'.
She is what could be classified as an unusual variant of the 'serpentoid' body plan-a common geenie mod variant that provides those who wish to change a way to resemble the 'naga' of popular culture. In her case, it appears to be a variant of the so-called 'rural' class of forms which normally completely repurposes the former legs to be a second set of limbs. In her case, it appears she went with an intermediary stage which allows her to either slither on her extremely dexterous tail and use her legs as such, or use it to support itself as she walks like any humanoid-plan individual. As part of her added bulk, she gave herself the common mod that allows her to ingest from the front of her 'tail' to supplement her normal intake with sufficient food to feed her 'lower half' in addition to supplying it with air and water as need be. There are... discrepancies regarding its length, which has led to a number of concerns. These are probably the result of misunderstandings regarding it and her, and reports of her having a variable length of tail-up to and including 'infinite' are probably the result of overactive imaginations.
While she is a regular, and apparently a well beloved member of society, there are disputes and discrepancies about how precisely she fits into society. Besides vague platitudes about being an 'outdated figure,' she has provided little in the way of hard facts other than claiming she had a hand in the life of every individual she met and wishing them all well. She certainly seems not to want for money, and usually produces hard currency for any transaction-usually coinage for some strange reason. Similarly, it's not entirely clear where she lives, as attempts to follow her by concerned members of the staff have often resulted in unusual accidents or even outright rez-worthy incidents which while deeply disturbing would otherwise have been harmless had the attempt ceased. Generally at this point it is assumed she is some part of the overall government apparatus and some secret agent on long-term hiatus to recover from some incident.
She certainly has a more motherly approach to most, seemly able to know what troubles others with ease. She always seems to be able to say just the right thing to convince others to try again and suggests that they keep going so that she can take their works to enrich her own home in the future, and has been a tremendous boon to the local economy. She loves the simple play of words in many cases, leading to various groans and grumbles about her sense of humor and how she must have transitioned gender at some point given her 'dad jokes'. She's even paid for others to improve themselves in one form or another.
But most of all, she has taken a rather keen interest in Shir Scrabble, to the disconcertation of all involved. She seems to regard the rather put-upon waitress as someone of great interest, a 'jewel of the wilderness' and insinuating that she would desire to 'add hir to her garden'. The attention has been stressful to the tauress, but clarification suggests a more innocent meaning behind these words. For some reason Jackalys considers Shir Scrabble to be her equal and opposite in some way, though the tauress's fellow waitresses and staff have no idea how. Certainly, at least, the two have agreed to at least go on various dates and social interactions, if only to find out a little bit more about the deathly being who patronizes their restaurant so eagerly...
