Meet Chakat Hardscrabble, or Scrabble for most if you're on speaking terms with hir. The poor dear is quite overworked and lonely, and slightly broken in some ways that are quite strange for chakats.

Born on an ultra-urban world, shi's bounced around between office work and serving as a cook in various small diners all over the city regularly; having taken hir name for the manner in which shi's stuck living a rather hard-scrabble life. While shi's had many dreams over the years, few have managed to break through, ending up often falling through either due to a failure to rise to the occasion or sheer bad luck ending up stopping what shi was hoping to do. And yet, shi's a fiercely kind and caring individual, even if shi isn't quite like one would expect, and will often go out of hir way to at least try to help others.

One can find hir often at work; squeezed into a cubical, some dingy office space, or shuffling behind a countertop depending on the year; at hir rather small and cramped apartment where shi can often be found snacking on things shi really ought not to--leading to hir soft and overwhelmingly squishy form, quite a rarity for chakats--as shi tries to distract hirself from the meager life shi lives, often laying on a softly padded couch watching the local video sites on hir TV as shi tries to find some way to get ahead in life or writing; or perhaps enjoying some of the few parks about and finding places to relax as shi tries to indulge hir hobbies. Whenever out of hir house, expect to find hir carrying either saddlebags full of writing utensils and various knick-knacks and notepads, looking to take inspiration from the world around hir for her attempts to get some of the many ideas out of hir head. When shi can, shi might take hir act on the road, venturing out into wilder areas to get away from distractions and taking a tent with hir. Maybe shi'll even manage to rise to the top of the rather intense battle royale of an online publishing scene that will exist on hir world.
