Oh, the Bakshi run of Mighty Mouse was a welcome guest every Saturday morning one my TV. I also remember well the Filmation series, a somewhat less-well-executed effort. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KwgkKlOLses

Filmation was a mainstay of American cartoons for close to thirty years, mainly by cranking out a tremendous volume of limited-animation shows for next to nothing. Their product dominated CBSs SatAm blocks throughout the 70s and into the 80s. They are well-known for their tremendous overuse of stock footage-- much of that Rotoscoped; a small, trademark stock of monaural sound effects; a producer (Lou Scheimer) who was also a prodigious voice actor for his own shows; and almost always using their toons to teach moral lessons (big time with the Masters Of The Universe shows). Filmation also did some live-action children's fare, again for CBS, in the 70s.

Yeah, those're Filmation's bigger titles from the 80s. BraveStarr was of-course a commercial for a toy line (hence the comical design of his blaster) and the home of that furry Rule #34 stud, 30/30. Here are some of the Filmation titles I grew up with in the 70s. Just openers now... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-TzUgmmTiQc Filmation actually did one twice, once in the 60s and this from the 70s. And the voices are exactly who you think they are. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=toSqtyuqZ3k https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7SodgHhG00 This one was actually one of Filmation's best shows, in terms of its sci-fi stories and animation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZtijHwELlHU Stop this video of the intro for Space Academy at the very beginning for a laundry list of Filmation's live-action fare, all of it broadcast on the American network CBS (Columbia Broadcasting System) in the 70s. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jsz1CO0Dqxs They're only missing one... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HW8spd55t8I Filmation later produced an out-and-out cartoon of SHAZAM, shown over on NBC in 80-81, in a show that harkened back to the days of live-audience kids's shows like Howdy Doody. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kr4kFB5e-WQ And, I think that's enough.

Watching the intro for Blackstar reminded me of one final Fimation effort. This was a very ambitious show for its era, pushing the Rotoscoping and Backlighting effects to new levels. It actually debued as a two-hour Friday Night Movie on America's NBC (National Broadcasting Company), a prestigious honor at the time and unheard-of for a kiddie cartoon. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7ZukGJsi4c
