Oh my! https://sta.sh/0oefoufvyc0

Popples are pals,
That pop outta pockets
Popples are pals,
That pop outta pockets

...Ok, ok, enough of that. :P

So, yeah, my mother left me a lot of bags that she made. Some are leather, some of cotton, some denim.
Almost all of them she made and drew on (some were premade, but the art was put there by her hand).

Either way, I'll try to post some of the art here, but I don't think I can post the whole/full purses. For one, I don't have a photogenic environment conducive to it, as well my little Canon camera just ain't made for this sort of thing. Even so I'll do what I can. :P

The upload is from a bag made by my mother, of scrap leather. It's signed with her real name (almost all these bags are, which presents another hindrance to photography), so I had to cut it off at the bottom. :P

The text reads (mispellings preserved),

"Plains once stained black from the Bearded beast of times remembered, are now just remnants of what was.
Spirits of their ancestors roam freely amongest the survivors, each one living proof the right to survive will win over extiction. The buffalo (is) the ambassador of the western plains, will forever reign as the 'spirit of the american west'"

So much work, and on an unforgiving medium (a dictionary would have saved the day here ...oh well).
The difference between me and my mother is she didn't let the mistakes in her art get to her. The mistakes I make are offensive to me.

Well, I said I'd be uploading some of my mother's art, so ...here's some? lol

My mother recently passed, leaving me with hundreds of drawings and poems and ...pocket books. :P
Anyway, the vast majority of her work will die along with she and I---these arts are just the ones I thought to share here.

Now, I know most who received this notification want to see MY art, not someone else's. That's fine, I guess ...again, I'll not upload TOO much of my mother's art---mostly I'll be uploading enough to get the trash I made pushed off my profile pages.

My mother's preferred medium was ink on parchment paper. Sometimes, she'd color with Sharpie and/or with Gel Pens, etc. Her talent, I think, was in her stippling.

A FAIR WARNING:

Unlike me, my mother liked to look at pictures from coloring books and redraw them. Some of the drawings here are many years old and I don't know the inspirations/derivations of their sources. Additionally, my mother took a literal translation to symbols and cultural artifacts. For example, though she was a Christian, she made use of the 'Peace' sign, taking it for what she thought it meant/represented (I won't upload anything of hers that used that symbol).

I have also removed my mother's signature from her work, mostly because she signed everything with her real name. :P
Additionally, my mother (like me) was autistic, so some of her grammar, spelling and poetry may read oddly. ^^

Last, she had a thing for Native American art and symbols, but (so far as I know) she knew nothing about them (I could be wrong, but I know my mother only recently discovered the internet, and even then, she mostly stuck to FaceBook---I don't think she ever visited Wikipedia).
So, if anything of hers that I upload here offends you, know the art and the person who made it came from a good place. Still don't like it and aren't mature enough to look away? Ok, cry to a moderator and not to me---I'll not take any of it down voluntarily (accept that any way you like).
