This was done in response to something that happened as June drew to a close. Despite the fact that I enjoy working at Midway International Airport and am making quite a bit of money, there have been some bad times on the job. The last week of June was one of them. The week, which started Wednesday, June 26th, started badly, progressively worsened, and ultimately ended on a sad note on June 30th.
One of the things that happened on June 30th occurred right before I left for work that evening. On Ebay, there were some production prototype Resaurus Sonic figures being auctioned off, with one of them being a tan and black figure of Amy. There was even a model sheet featuring illustrations of the Amy figure. The Ebay seller, who actually lives just a few miles southwest of me and is someone I follow elsewhere, stated that much of this was "one of a kind."
Although I have a red prototype figure of Amy (something I bought for quite a bit back in late 2018), this new lot was something I would've loved to have for my Amy Rose collection. Although I made a bid with just a few seconds to go in the auction, I timed it too early and was quickly outbid, and by the time I had to chance to bid higher, it was too little too late. Events at work that evening did nothing to help the bitter mood I was in.
Although I had two days off afterwards, I came down with a cold during that time preventing either of those days from being enjoyable. As I was reeling in all the disappointment I was in, especially with the prototype Amy figures, I actually heard Amy's voice telling me that what happened on Ebay that Sunday evening would not be the last time I faced such a disappointment. At that moment, I realized that even if I won these figures, there would still be something of Amy just as rare if not rarer down the line that I may not be so lucky with getting.
Nevertheless, not all hope with this is a lost cause. Maybe, just maybe, these "one of a kind" production prototype figures and model sheets of Amy may not be so unique after all. There could be another set of these things that someone else has that they're willing to sell or auction off sometime in the future. Similar to how I got my Wheel of Fortune Live Play electronic game back to end 2019 on good terms, I just have to keep looking and not lose hope. As Amy Hannam and my foxy friend Lisa have said, I've not lost a thing. Whatever my come, the Light of Hope is always shining there in my heart.
Even with all that I just said, I hold no hard feelings against the person who won these figures. Besides, they won them fair and square. I congratulate them, and all I ask is that they enjoy these figures as well as to please take good care of them.
In response to what Amy told me, I decided to make this drawing of her consoling my fursona Billy with these same exact words. This drawing is intended to serve as a cautionary message for other collectors as they will indeed face disappointments similar to the one I went through.
