"But mom, I'm not scared of the water and I know how to swim already" Joey protested as he shook his arms, flapping them like a bird flapping its wings, trying to shake the water wings off his arms.
"I know you aren't scared of the water and I'm sure you learned how to swim in your previous life but can you at least pretend?" Sasha asked stopping him from flapping.
"well I mean, I guess I can pretend, but why?" Joey asked as his mom adjusted the floaties on his arms pulling them back up
"Maybe because I want to take a video of my baby boy in the pool. Maybe because mommy wants to t least enjoy teaching her little pup that the water is fine and won't hurt him. Maybe because mommy will buy her pup a new toy if he plays along like a good baby pup" Sasha replied offering a bribe
Hearing the offer, Joey's ears perked up as he looked up at her. "promise?" Joey asked
with a weary sigh, Sasha nodded her head, "Yes, mommy promises, but you gotta act like a real baby pup getting into the water for the first time"
"deal" Joey replied as he blushed at the thought of having to act so infantile.
Sasha picked up the little otter and cradled him in one arm and grabbed her camera with her other hand. With everything ready, she carried the little otter outside into the backyard where he could see Ben, filling up his little kiddie pool with water from the garden hose. It was a hot day out, so today was perfect for getting into the water anyway to stay cool.
"okay champ, waters all ready fer ya" The skunk replied as he ruffled Joey's heair with his hand
Joey could only let out a small weh as his hair got all messed up, making his dad chuckle.
"okay baby boy, mommy will be right beside you" Sasha replied handing the camera to Ben to record the moment.
With the camera rolling and focused on the two, Sasha began to dip the little pup into the water. Joey just blushed unable to believe he was about to do this. It didn't matter if it was normal for his age or not, his mind still had trouble adjusting to all of this. Feeling his feet touch the water he began to kick and let out small panicked squeaks and meeps.
"No!" Water scary!" Joey cried out as he splashed water across the pool
"Aww, don't worry sweetie. Mommy won't let the mean old scary water hurt her pwecious widdle baby boy" She replied gently placing him in the water.
As soon as he was sat down in the water, she placed a small toy boat in the water as he kept squirming and crying out. "wook at da widdle boat, see the funny boat?" She asked pushing it along the water.
Joey was looking at the boat and stopped acting scared as he stared at it for a bit.
"Oh my, I guess the boat was a little tooo effective at distracting him" She replied trying to give him a clue to keep at it
"Uhhhh mommy.... why is the water going down?" Joey asked looking up at her
"why is the water....going...dow..... " She repeated to herself as she watched the water.
Sure enough, it was going down, but where? Was there a hole in the pool? It was brand new, there shouldn't be a hole. But then her gaze turned to Joey's diaper and her eyes widened. Ben zoomed the camera on Joey's lion king huggies as they began to swell upas they began to drink up all the water.
"I think little Simba was really thirsty" Ben Joked as he burst out laughing
Sasha just got up and walked away for a bit in shame as she realized she forgot to change him into a swim diaper.
"It wasn't me!" Joey replied as he kept sitting there in the now empty pool
This reminds me of a diaper commercial I saw once. A baby girl was at the beach with her parents and when her dad put her into the sea, her diaper sucked up all the water.
