We're still sitting in '22 for the dates when this art was made, but you can see I'm starting to dabble into putting actual time and effort into stuff again! Pieces like these, which were token art, and then the one of Mooch nibbling Gleam. I'm still quite proud of them!
The party warlock is Rose, a dorumon Jean found abandoned and alone in the ruins of a demolished town. She woke in a crator without a single thought in her head, only a symbol and the intense need to find it. So when a big yellow bunny turns up with that symbol on his hat... Well, crotchety and feral though the little Digimon was, she followed him without question, quickly falling for her kind, intelligent savior as they travelled together and she learned from him. Things like 'how to talk' and 'don't pee indoors.'
Eventually, realizing he didn't have the capacity to bring Rose up to speed as a fully rounded individual, and worried for her mental and emotional stability if she were only exposed to HIM for long periods of time, he left Rose in the care of a mercenary guildhouse called Rent-A-Mon. Rose was agonized by this abandonment, though he promised to come back for her, but slowly made friends among the guildmembers as they came to realize her warlock pact came with a curse-- Rose's face and tongue could only lie, and would always show and say the opposite of her true feelings, which quickly became the origin of her name.
Beautiful, but one had to take the thorns with the petals...
Her 'upbringing' was somewhat difficult, as she was placed together with Sunshine, a Renamon who also had a strong emotional attachment to Jean, and neither had the maturity to not be huge catty bitches about it, so she ended up thinking that competition and duplicity were normal parts of romance for a long time... But things change, and people grow as they see and experience more.
Eventually, through the power of the Digivice, Rose became able to temporarily evolve into Dorugamon! A glimpse of her waiting future, Bellerose is warm, kind and confident, though perhaps a bit TOO honest...
As a Dorumon, Rose is a Level 3 Warlock with Pact of The Tome, beholden to Voice In The Dark, a cruel and bitter existence within Rose that was asleep for most of her short life, and eventually revealed to be Death-X-mon. As a Dorugamon, she breaks free of Voice's control and becomes a Level 8 Bladesinger Wizard.
