_______ The sun peaks out over Camden Town and the rays hit the sleeping dalmatian in his treehouse. Dylan woke up with a stretch with a grin.
"Best sleep I've ever had." Dylan said with a grin as he leaves his loft in the treehouse, unaware that his cushions and pillows are riddled with rips and tears.
Dylan jumps from the treehouse and onto the grass and enters the household. The dalmatian spot Hunter and his siblings still asleep until an alarm on Hunter's phone starts blaring as the human woke along with some of the pups and caught it to turn it off.
"5 more minutes..." Hunter groggily stated, trying to sleep more, but the dalmatian won't let him.
"C'mon, Hunter. You can't sleep the day away. Rise and shine!" Dylan shakes him vigorously.
"Yeah, Mr. Funny Face!" Dizzy started.
"Let's play!" Dee Dee finished.
"First, shouldn't we brush our teeth?" Dawkins asked but his eldest brother interjected.
"Ah, why bother with it now?" The eldest pup inquired.
"Huh? You're always all about hygiene and always get on our case about it." The genius pup said with concern.
"I did? Oh, yeah. Ah, I'll worry about that later, but first some chores to do." Dylan said, as he goes off on his own business, which confuses the pup and Hunter.
"Uh, is your brother alright?" Hunter asked with a raised brow.
"Maybe he's still a bit stressed from yesterday?" Dawkins guessed as he watches his leave the room. _______ An hour later, Dawkins activates the kibble pump, and it fills every bowl, much to the dog's joy. But Hunter has his own food in the form of a breakfast bar. While the pups eat, Dylan has just finished his chores and joins the family but only for a short moment as he scarfs the food down in one bite and belches, which shocks his parents, siblings and Hunter as they stared at him wide-eyed expressions.
"I'm fine. No, I feel great! Last night's sleep did wonders for me." Dylan answered with a grin, which unnerves her and some of the pups.
"Well, if you say so. Doug and I are being called in to work." She stated to the pups.
"Aren't you tired from being up all night?" Hunter asked the parents.
"Oh, don't worry, we'll be back early if we finish the last-minute shifts we got." Doug reassured the youngsters.
"If you say so, Doug." Dawkins replied, concerned for his parents' fatigue.
"More importantly, are you sure you're alright, Dylan?" The father asks his stepson, concerned as well.
"Dad, everyone, I'm fine. I'm just a bit chipper today." The eldest pup reassures.
"Well, if you are, we'll be off then." The mother dalmatian said as she and Doug leave for work. _____ A couple of hours later, Dylan is lounging around on the sofa watching his siblings until he spots Dolly performing her usual skateboard tricks in the house, while Deepak is meditating until he felt something unnerving him as he glares at Dylan. The nervous pup couldn't put his paw on it, but he knows something is off with his brother but doesn't know what it could be.
"Bow-whacka-wow!" Dolly screamed out as she skateboards.
"Why not perform a tail grab or reverse ollie?" Dylan entices the reckless dalmatian, and this shocks his younger genius brother.
"Don't encourage her, Dylan!" Dawkins reprimands his older brother.
"Why not? Sometimes, you gotta let loose a little." The teen pup said, making his brother glare with a little suspicion.
"Totally. About time you stop being so stuffy." The tomboyish pup said while performing said tricks.
"I don't see anything wrong with that. Also, I forgot to give you something." Hunter started as he takes out a plastic bag containing the shredded remains of a certain object from his backpack, which the pup recognizes. "I managed to salvage it before they commandeered the ship." He explained as the genius pup snatches it.
"It's a she and thank you!" Dawkins thanked the human with grateful tears.
"You saved his toy? Impressive." Dylan stated with awe.
"I managed to sew some of the pieces, but I ended up stabbing myself with the needle a few times." The boy explained.
"Careful, Hunter, any more talk and Dylan will make you play Poodlewolf." Dolly warned as she skates by.
"I couldn't care less about that game. Not in the mood." Dylan replied, which causes several pups to gasp in shock, as Dolly suddenly fell off her board in shock and Dawkins dropped the bag of Princess Positron's remains in horror.
"You... Dylan... What...?" The genius pup couldn't find the words to express what he just heard.
"What? I'm just not in the mood at the moment." Dylan said in a mirthful tone, which unnerves everyone in the room.
"OK, Dyl, if this about what I said about how boring the moon last night was-" Dolly got cut off by her stepbrother.
"Dolly, I'm just in a good mood. Don't ruin the day for me, please?" He said to his stepsister as he hops off the sofa and leaves the living room.
"OK, anyone knows what's going on with the dork?" The female dalmatian teen ask the pups about their brother's behavior, which they all nodded 'no'.
"He's a lot happier than yesterday." Hunter said, unsure about the dog's mood. "At least I think so?" The De Vil finished as he scratches his head.
"It's creeping me out." Dante commented ironically.
"This coming from a pup who constantly proclaims his world-ending drivel." Dawkins pointed out, which earns him a glare from the inverted pup. _____ In the backyard, Dylan is walking alongside the fence picking up toys left behind by his siblings until a small black spider from the toys and startles him a little. Irritated by the arachnid, the pup proceeds to try and crush it, but the spider fled into the grass trying to avoid the pup's paws. As Dylan looks around for the arthropod, the very arachnid crawls on the fence to try and escape, but the angry dog quickly spots it and with a malicious grin, he raises his paw to finally crush it, which he succeeded in, but ends up breaking part of the fence much to his shock.
"What the?" Dylan said to himself as he looks down his paw and clenches it a few times. "Have I been working out?" He asked himself.
"Yo, Dyl! We're heading to the park!" Dolly called from inside the house. "You coming?!" She added.
"Uh, yeah! Sure." The confused pup replied, trying to piece together what just happened, but decides to ignore it and goes to join his siblings. _____ Later at the park, Dylan watches his siblings pertain to their usual chaotic antics at the park as he wanders over to the pond to relax a little while. The giant swan is swimming about until he spots the dalmatian with a sneer.
"Excuse me, pup. But I was specifically clear that this was my pond." The swan hisses at the pup, who glares at the large bird with an unimpressed glare.
"I'm just relaxing here for the time being. No need to get uppity." Dylan said, trying to defuse the tension.
"An unruly mutt like you needs to respect boundaries of residents." The swan sneers further.
"Look... You don't have to be testy, considering your kind is invasive and unsophisticated." The dalmatian growled with retort as he slowly stands and glares at the swan with contempt. "I said I was just taking a short rest. Now, kindly back off, sir." He stated, feeling his anger rise as his fur bristles.
"Hah! Me, unsophisticated like your unruly undisciplined siblings of yours? Your parents must be terrible with their upbringing if they can't bring an order to those distasteful fuzzballs." The swan said with a snide, causing the pup to growl. "Such pitiful hounds should have stayed at the shelter, where they should await their inevitable end." The unruly fowl said directly in the eldest pup's face.
And that was the final straw that broke the camel's back as Dylan's eyes turn red with pure anger as he lividly grabs the giant swan's neck with his forepaw to choke the bird not just for his rudeness, but he insulted his family, which was a terrible move on the bird's part.
"Listen, you overgrown turkey!" Dylan growled at the swan, whose arrogance quickly gave away to fear as the dog chokes him.
"N-Now, see here-" The swan nervously tries to retort, but the teen pup tightens his grip, making the large bird go silent.
"Silence!" The dalmatian demanded before continuing. "Say whatever the hell you want about me, but insult my family like that again, and I'll be more than happy to rend your sorry feathered tail asunder that not even the other birds and animals you terrorized will recognize your mangled corpse!" He vehemently threatened the bird, who is deathly afraid of the pup now.
The swan is now sweating bullets as he tries to break free of the livid dog's grasp. The bird was used to terrorizing folks, but now karma is rearing its head on the unfortunate bird, who's unable to say a word to the angry dalmatian.
"So here's the deal, bird: You leave, and I won't have to resort to killing you." Dylan offered some leniency before starting again. "Or better yet, I may just be in the mood for fresh swan meat." The dog maliciously grins at the terrified bird as he brandishes his fangs at him, making the swan gulp in fear.
"No... I... Uh... Help!" The swan frantically struggles until the dalmatian decides to release the horrified bird, who then ran from the pond as Dylan looks on with satisfaction of putting the bird in his place and goes back to resting at the pond edge.
The frantic bird runs throughout the park and hid at the tree near Hunter, who was listening to his music and spots the bird having a panic attack as the animals notices. Curious, the human goes over to the nervous bird.
"So, mate, what's ruffling your feathers?" Hunter asked with a sly smirk.
"Th... Th-that...demonic...mutt..." The swan stammered out as he glares back at the pup near the pond he got chased from.
"Huh? Demonic mutt?" The boy asked as he and the other animals see Dylan lounging around with a yawn. "Dylan? He's about as threatening as a chihuahua." The De Vil laughs at the swan.
"Yeahhh... I can't picture Dyl being ferocious." Dolly added about her stepbrother.
"Then you mutts are all alike! Just ungrateful savages!" The swan retorts, which got all dogs to give the swan angry glares as he gets even more scared by the angry bunch.
"Excuse me... You want to run that by us again, sir?" Dawkins angrily demanded. "Just where you do get off with that hypocritical logic when you've spent your time terrorizing us?" The genius pup glowered at the bird.
"Dude, if I were you, I'd run or, in your case, fly far away before these 'ungrateful savages' tear you limb from limb." Hunter sneered at the frightened swan with a sly grin. "Because that comment isn't gonna fly by them, y'know." The boy added.
The swan looks at the angry pack of dogs he's insulted, and he finally had enough and caved to his fears. Without a word, the giant swan took off and flies out of the park to escape the livid pack of hounds.
"And don't ever show your ugly uptight beakface around here again!" Dolly shouted after the terrified bird.
"And we were afraid of him?" Sid the squirrel asked incredulously.
"What a poser..." Big Fee the rat added.
"You mean he's a major chicken." Fergus added as well.
"Sooo, you had guys had a beef with that bird?" Hunted asked the dalmatians.
"That bigoted feathered fiend, yes." Dawkins groaned at the human before continuing. "Every time we get near the pond in the Summer, he'd chase off everyone who tries to cool off from the summer heat, and that includes other swans too." The genius pup finished.
"Blasted bird thinks he owns entire pond." Snowball spoke out.
"Glad he's never coming back again." Hansel added as well as the other dogs agreed.
"While I'm glad the swan is gone, I'm more intrigued by how Dylan managed to scare him." Dawkins started as he shifted towards his brother, who is sleeping at the edge of the pond. Dylan's hardly a violent sort. Not since..., The pup thought as he was about to remember until his eldest stepsister interrupts him.
"So what's the dealio with Dylan? First, he's all happy and carefree and now's a some vicious dog? I really can't see the dork being violent." Dolly put in her two pounds.
"He's prolly going through puberty or, better yet, he's just more stressed." Hunter guesses, unsure about the situation.
Back to the lone dalmatian, Dylan's relaxation is interrupted by his stomach as he suddenly feels hungry while a mouse passes by him. The teen dalmatian also suddenly wonders what do mice taste like, since cats love to chase and eat them. Curious, he grabs the rodent and licks his chops and open his maw wide, scaring the rodent. Back at the dogs, who are still conversing about the Dylan.
"The dork is many things but barely an action dog." Dolly commented.
"As he's about to eat rodent?" Snowball inquired as she stares at the dalmatian in shock.
Hunter raises a brow in confusion at what the pomeranian said and spots Dylan about to devour a helpless mouse, as did the others in shock.
After hearing his younger brother yell, Dylan snaps to his senses as he glares at the mouse in his paw.
"Uh... Mind putting me down, bud?" The mouse calmly demanded as the pup drops him in fear and shock. "Ow! Not a good a landing either..." He groaned.
"Wh-What... What did I just almost do?!" The eldest pup exclaimed in disgust.
"You almost ate me like I'm a sardine. Not that I'm aware the dogs could eat them." The mouse replied to the panicking pup.
"Yeah, D-Dog!" Fergus walks up to the dalmatian. "Way to tap into your wild side!" The fox praised his friend along with Sid and Big Fee.
"Don't encourage him!" Dawkins chided the fox.
Hunter watches the scene unfold and can no longer deny the abnormal actions of his dalmatian friend. While the dogs chat away at what's going on, the human looks into the mysterious book about the event from last night. Pearl walks by and notices a crowd of animals near Dylan, and she curiously trots over to the group.
"Dude, you've been acting weird all day, and it's not even funny." Dolly chimed in.
"Since when do you care?" Dylan asked his sister.
"I care! Half the time..." The tomboyish dalmatian rebutted.
"It's unsanitary for you to try to eat dirty vermin like him. Who knows what diseases they carry?" The genius pup cut in.
"Hey!" Sid and Big Fee took offense to that.
"I just happen to be a passing by until this wolf tried to eat me." The mouse implied to the dalmatian as he leaves the area.
"I'm not a wolf." Dylan grumbled.
"Yeah, your scrawny bod isn't athletic-wise compared to me." The tomboyish teen commented.
"Yeah, this 'scrawny bod' of mine can lift more than you can, Ms. Noodlelegs." The nerdy dalmatian retorts, earning a shocked gasp from his stepsister.
"Wha-... I... You..." The rebellious dog tries to make a comeback, but is unable to counter her stepbrother's taunt.
"Now, if you're done being 'cool' for yourself, leave me be." He sniped further.
"And you're back to being your usual stuck-up self." She remarked. "Just being the same weirdo like always." She finished.
"Said the pretentious rebel..." Dylan sniped under his breath.
"What?" Dolly asked.
"Nothing." The geeky dog stated in a nonchalant manner.
"How droll, the oddball pair and their squabble." Portia mused.
"This coming from a gloomy poodle with no common sense or a heart." Dylan sniped at his former crush.
"Excuse me? I have a heart for the-" The poodle tries to rebut, but the dalmatian cut her off.
"For the macabre and dreary things, like any depressing fool like you?" The nerdy dalmatian adds in a derisive manner which shocks the entire crowd.
Insulted, Portia quickly vacates the area as Spencer silently follows her as the police horse walks up.
"What's going on here?" Pearl demanded.
"Just Dylan being a total- Oww!" Dolly exclaimed as her stepbrother yanked on one of her ears.
"Nothing, Pearl. Just Dolly being a total loon." Dylan replied with a snide.
"Hey!" Dolly tries to protest but the horse cuts in.
"Enough!" The horse bellowed, causing the siblings to go silent. "Besides you pups disturbing the peace, I've seen that swan flying off. Mind telling me what ruffled his feathers?" She inquired.
"Dylan chased him off." Diesel came up from underground, bewildering the mare.
"Him?" The mare stares at the young dalmatian with a raised brow. "No offense, but I doubt that he's an intimidating type." She finished, earning a scowl from the teen pup.
"You'd be surprised..." Dawkins muttered as he and the crowd of dogs and others disperses.
"In any case, I don't want you pups to-" The horse got cut off by the dalmatian.
"Excuse me, Officer, but I would appreciate it if you don't pry into our affairs." Dylan responded in a low tone.
"Only if you keep those-" The mare is cut off once more.
"Please choose your words carefully before you lose your tongue." The teen dalmatian threatened with closed eyes.
Pearl went silent at the threat and remembers a familiar dog who talked to her that way when she went a step out of line. That particular dog was a military officer hound who first came to the UK.
"F-Forgive me, Dyne..." Pearl whispered.
"What?" Dylan inquired.
"I-I mean, Dylan. Just keep your siblings out of trouble so that I don't get more complaints." Pearl warned the pup before quickly leaving the area.
"Dude, what is your damage?" Dolly asked after she witnessed her stepbrother threaten the horse.
"None of your freaking business, that's what." Dylan bluntly stated.
"Jeez... First, you're all happy and carefree, and now you're a total buzzkill." The tomboyish pup remarked getting in his face.
"Speaking of kill, if you don't back up right now, I might consider doing so." The disgruntled teen dog threatened, causing his stepsister to back away in shock. "And besides, I'm heading home. I feel...odd..." He finished.
"I thought that's how you always are." Dolly sniped, earning a growl from her stepbrother.
"Look, you bi-" Dylan stopped before composing himself. "No, you're not getting under my fur again. I refuse to get sucked into your antics." The dalmatian declared as he starts to walk away.
"And where are you going?" Dolly asked.
"Home like I said..." The teen dog said as he goes to the park gates.
"And there goes the dork..." The tomboyish dalmatian groaned as she goes to join her siblings.
As the Dylan reaches the gates, he is stopped by Hunter, who's feeling concerned about him.
"Hey, Dylan... Are you feeling alright?" The De Vil asks.
"Maybe if I rip out your tongue?" The dalmatian threatened.
"What?" The human asked, aghast.
"What? What did I say?" Dylan confused about his speech.
"You just threatened to rip out my tongue..." The boy said in shock.
"I... I did?" The dalmatian asked once more.
"That and you also threatened Dolly and the horse." Hunter reminded the dog, who's in shock right now.
"I... What....?" Dylan trailed off as he clutches his head. "I... I need to lie down..." The dog replied as he leaves the park.
Hunter, worried about his friend's condition also leaves the park. Unknown to the duo, a small corgi pup is watching the scene with a curious glare. Further from the corgi, the mouse from before is also watching the pup leave. _____ Down the sidewalk from the further, Hunter and Dylan are walking side by side as the human looks into a certain passage of the book. The duo soon heard a growl near them and both look up to see a lone stray dog growling at them.
"Oi! This is my turf!" The stray declared.
"Since when?" Hunter shot an unamused glare at the dog, as did Dylan.
"Since always, now beat it, brats!" The stray threatened.
"And if we say 'no'? I bet you get your sorry tail handed to you when you end up picking fights you can't win." Dylan retorts, making Hunter snicker and the stray dog growls. "Look, I'm not in the mood for trivial matters. Just let us go and-" The dalmatian is cut off by the rude dog.
"Look, punk, either you leave or get mauled." The stray barked, getting into the teen's face.
"Back. Off. Or would you rather I show you how your bark is worse than your bite?" The teen dalmatian threatened darkly with narrowed eyes, now turning red.
"Uh...dude?" Hunter asked, noticing a change in the dalmatian's behavior.
The stray try to attack, but Dylan headbutts the unfortunate dog onto the ground and pins the dog with his paw on his windpipe, shocking the De Vil.
"Not so tough now are ya?" The dog grins wickedly as he puts pressure on the dog's neck. "How's about I break your bones along with your-" The dog is interrupted by the human's call.
"Oi! Dylan, stop! Stop!" Hunter shouted as he grabs and shakes the pup back to his senses.
"Huh? What?" Dylan said in a dazed manner as his eyes go back to normal and looks down at the stray who is trembling in fear. "Oh, dog!" The teen dalmatian exclaimed and releases his grip on the stray, who then backs away in genuine terror.
"*cough* *cough* Y-You... Y-You damn freak! You almost killed me!" The stray retorted with a fearful glare with tears in his eyes.
"I... I-" The confused dalmatian is stopped by the Hunter.
"Unless you want further punishment, I'd leave if I were you." Hunter warned with a smug grin.
"A-Anywhere from that beast!" The stray cried as he fled from the duo in terror.
"So..." Hunter started as he glares at the dalmatian with concerned. "I'm under the impression that you're not yourself?" He finished.
"Let's just go home..." Dylan stated in worry.
"Why? What's going-" The boy's question is cut short.
"NOW!" The despairing pup demanded, causing the human to back away with his hands up. _____ Later, the duo arrives at the dalmatian home and Dylan rushes in and collapses onto the sofa in worry about the recent events happening.
"So, Spots, what's up with you? You've been off your rocker for some time. Earlier this morning, you encouraged your sister's dangerous stunt, refused to play your 'Poodlewolf', you ate a bowl of kibble in a single gulp." The De Vil listed on.
"What else?" Dylan asked while he's faced down in the cushion.
"Oh, well... At the park, I heard you threatened a giant swan and scared him off, almost ate a wild rodent, and then you threatened your sister and that police horse whatshername?" Hunter continued on.
"Pearl..." The dalmatian answered.
"Yeah... Finally, you went feral on some random stray to the point of killing him. To sum it up, I believe the moon did something to you." The human finished.
"If you're gonna ramble on about how the blood moon is the end of everything like Dante said..." The dalmatian trailed off as he got off the sofa and walks past Hunter.
"I'm not one to believe in curses, but I think the book might be onto something." Hunter stated.
"If that book is right in some way, I'll check it, maybe." Dylan said as he walks upstairs, leaving the human alone.
The teen dalmatian goes into the bathroom and washes his face in the sink, then glares into the mirror to see a terrifying visage: himself but with red eyes, black sclera and unkempt fur. Dylan screams and falls backwards and hit his head on the towel rack. The dalmatian groaned as he slowly got up to look into the mirror again to see his normal reflection again.
"Wh-What in the dog's name was that?" Dylan asked himself of what he had just seen.
The dalmatian then heard a stampede of pawsteps along with some barking, signaling that the rest of the pups are home. Dylan leaves the bathroom and head downstairs to find Hunter dusting himself off.
"Lively as ever. If you're looking for them, they went out back." Hunter pointed to where the pups went before heading towards the door.
"Where are you going?" Dylan asked with a raised brow.
"Back home. I got some research to look into. See ya!" Hunter explained as he left the dalmatian residence.
Dylan watches the human leave and decides to head to the backyard, hopefully to his treehouse, but on his way there he finds his parents examining the broken fence with a crowd of his siblings watching.
"Now, what could have done this?" Delilah asks the family.
"Uh...me." Dylan spoke up, causing the entire family to glare at him in shock. "I broke it trying to squash a spider." He admitted.
"You?" The mother stares at the damage and back at her son. "Are you sure?" She asked once more to confirm it.
"Preposterous! I can picture Dolly breaking the fence with her board but-" Dawkins started, but the tomboyish dalmatian cuts in.
"Hey! What's that supposed to mean?!" Dolly retorts at her young stepbrother, getting in his face.
"Well, your blatant disregard of-" The genius is cut off by a paw to the face.
"Talk to the paw. Also, I can't picture the dork being strong." The tomboyish dog remarked.
Dylan glowered at this. I'd be glad to demonstrate to a bitch like you. Dylan sniped in his thoughts.
"Keep it down! One is trying to enjoy her serenade!" Clarissa called from the other side of the fence.
"Sorry, Snooty McLame!" Dolly called back.
Bitchrissa, more like it. The nerdy dog sniped once more in his thoughts with a smirk. "Anyway, I'll fix it." Dylan volunteered.
"Well, I suppose..." Delilah trailed and Doug comes up next to her.
"Are you sure you don't want any help, son?" Doug asked his stepson for assistance.
"I'm good." Dylan nodded.
"As long as he doesn't screw it up." Dolly teased.
"You're one to talk!" Dylan snapped as walks past the parents and gets into his stepsister's face. "With all your messes I had to clean!" The incensed dog stated as both stepsiblings glare intensely at each other.
"D-Dylan! What happened to you?" Delilah asked her son, getting his attention.
"I'm fine. I'm just having a good long chat with Dolly." Dylan responded.
"You sure? Because you have that nasty bruise on the back of your noggin." Doug pointed out in concern.
"Huh?" Dylan was taken aback and touched the spot where he hit his head in the bathroom and winced in pain. "Oh, that. I had slipped a bit, but I'm fine. No blood." The teen pup reassured the folks.
"I doubt it. Come." The mother said as she grabbed Dylan by his collar and drag him inside the house and Doug follows.
"So, who's fixing the fence? 1, 2, 3—Not it!" Dolly called out and the rest of the pups follow suit except for a certain genius.
"Not- Aw, kibbles..." Dawkins grumbled. _____ Hours later at dusk, Dylan on the sofa with a bandage wrapped around his head can't stop thinking about what he did earlier today. He wasn't known to be a violent and strong dog, not since he remembers defending his brother, Dawkins, from a bully that tormented and took his favorite toy and transitional object back when their father was still living. He spies his brother focusing on repairing Princess Positron while the rest of the pups play.
"Need any help?" Dylan asked.
"No need. I can handle it myself, since I just repaired that fence you broke." Dawkins sniped.
"Watch your tone. It was an accident. I even offered to fix it." The elder pup stated.
"Up until you injured yourself." The genius pup said.
"Again, by accident." The teen dalmatian said, growing frustrated by every response.
"Was it also an 'accident' when you let a De Vil come to our home the first time?" The young pup questioned him as he unintentionally raised an ire in his brother.
"You're lucky Hunter isn't here to hear that, you little-" Dylan stopped himself as he got off the sofa. "No, you know what? I'm in no mood to talk." The teen dog as he's about to leave the living room.
"Good. Now, let me focus instead of talking pointless trivialities." Dawkins dryly replies.
Dylan stops to deliver his statement. "Dawkins, while you may be the residential genius of the household, true, but there's one thing geniuses like you lack: common sense along with a heart." The dalmatian retorts darkly, which made his younger brother jump at the words as he leaves the room.
"D-Dylan, wait, I..." Dawkins tries to apologize, but it was too late; his irate brother had already left the room. "Kibbles..." The genius pup muttered sadly, mentally kicking himself for reopening old wounds.
"Niiice one, Dawkins." Dolly replied in a sardonic tone.
"So./Totally./Uncool." Destiny, Dallas and Déjà Vu added.
"Like you and those divas are any different." The genius pup rebutted.
"Wh- You think I'm..." The rebellious pup got short.
"In some aspect..." He bluntly replied.
"Well...at least you're the heartless one." Dolly tried to rebut much to the pup's mirth.
"No comeback, huh?" Dawkins mocks his stepsister, who growls at him. "Yeah, get upset for all I care... I doubt those uppity divas could do the same." He finished, silencing the triplets before they could even speak. _______ At the treehouse, Dylan storms up into the loft, trying to shake off Dawkins' callous words. The dalmatian felt like throttling the insensitive know-it-all, but it's not worth it. The teen dog then turns his attention to his torn cushions and pillows and wonders what happened but digresses it as he's trying to calm down until he spots a large green spider crawling about.
"I've had enough annoying pests bothering me for today!" Dylan snapped as he about to kill yet another arachnid.
The dalmatian raises his paw to crush it, but the spider turns and glares at the angry dog, not even bothering to move. Dylan, with his anger still surging, moves to swat it but stops halfway and decides to spare it. The spider then quickly scurries to a nearby corner and rest, much to the dog's chagrin. Dylan flops onto the torn up pillows, hoping to sleep off his thoughts of today's events. But his sleep won't come easy, as something terrible starts to stir within him... _____ Later that same night, the lone stray from earlier is still growling that the dalmatian pup got the best of him.
“That bratty mutt… When I see him, I’m gonna tear him apart and-” The stray is cut off by a growl.
He looks around for the source and spots a feral shady figure shambling around in the dark.
“Oi!” He calls to the figure, who kept ignoring him until the brash dog runs up to get close. “Hey, are you deaf?!” He retorts, only to earn a growl from the mystery figure.
The stray has had enough and lunges, only for the figure to backpaw the stray to send him flying and skidding down the street in pain into a streetlamp, making it flicker. The stray groaned in severe pain as he tries to stand as the lamp flickers above him, but the pain was intense and he fell again.
“My…ribs…” The stray groaned as he spots the figure walking towards him. “N-No… Stay back! Help!” The once arrogant dog cried in fear as he tries to get away, but the shady feral quickly rushes toward to hapless hound with a gleaming red eyes with his fangs bared.
The stray’s scream rang out into the dark night. _____ An eventful day this has been for Dylan, but what's next for him with his wild change of emotions?
