As part of the campaign, each player was allowed to create their character's hometown with as much or as little detail as they desired, including major NPCs, though the DM would end up actually playing them.
Just shy of the eastern edge of Cloud Continent, there is a mountain range creating a large enclosed ring, impassable by anything but flight. Within this bowl is primarily desert, but the eastern third is downright verdant, partitioned off from the rest by a river having carved a deep ravine in the landscape. Carved into the walls of the cliffs and strung across the ravine on shimmering strands is the primarily Bug populated Digimon settlement, Scattered Dew, where Gleam is from!
Scattered Dew's primary export is medicine, so between that and it's incredibly advantageous placement, most of the other settlements don't generally want to pick a fight with them, a fact deeply enjoyed by it's ruler and founder, Queen Remilia. She is an elegant and exacting leader, extremely hands-on with her people and not afraid to put her immense physical strength to work in bettering her countryman's lives.
She has two daughters, Albion and Brianne. The latter is her child with the leader of a neighboring settlement as part of their peace agreement, and the former, her eldest, is her heir-apparent and the crux of Scattered Dew's plot-- The Princess has been missing for six months, and Remilia is convinced the Mayor of Dawn and his assassins guild are the culprits! It's up to the party to find Albion and prevent the war!
Fun facts: She and her husband are named after characters from Lunar: The Silver Star. Fittingly, her husband is a Crescemon. There's art of Ghaleon over here! In-universe it's hotly debated if the colorful panels on her wings are natural or dyed. Her title is 'Queen' purely because Scattered Dew is mostly insects, and she doesn't necessarily have a higher rank than any other settlement leader.
