Picture 1: Just an ordinary fight between the lions and the aliens participating on Frieza's behalf.
Picture 2: Surak takes Simba's place to assist Kovu in beating another pair of Frieza's goons. Oddly enough, Kovu is the only one to notice some changes around the ring, just as the demonic cat takes over the screen with a glee.
