The Spider Kaijin, also referred to as Kumo クモ for short, was a member of the Gorgom Party sent to capture Aoi Izumi. The Spider Kaijin was first seen being ordered to find and capture Aoi Izumi by Bilgenia and Prime Minister Dounami, who wanted her alive and brought to the Gorgom Party. After agreeing to do so, he would proceed to track down Aoi's location and drove his truck to the route to her house. While she was walking home with her friend Shunsuke Komatsu, the Spider Kaijin would block their path and partially transform into his Kaijin form. Shunsuke would then question him about what the man wanted, but the Kaijin would just slap him aside using one of his four arachnid limbs. He had almost succeeded in capturing the young Kaijin rights activist, had Kotaro Minami not stepped in to intervene (as he had accepted an offer to kill Aoi to earn some money to pay for his living expenses) and realize that one of the Kingstones were in her possession. The Spider Kaijin, seeing Kotaro as someone trying to steal his target, would use one of his arms to stab Kotaro in the back, only for Kotaro's augmented flesh to break off the tarsus of the arm that he was stabbed with. The retired century king would then transform into the Black Migratory Locust Kaijin to protect Aoi, prompting the Spider Kaijin to transform into his complete Kaijin form as well. A brutal fight broke out between the two Kaijin, which came to a close as Black Sun would tear off the Spider Kaijin's other arm and use it to tear out his intestines. The latter would try to spit another blast of webbing at the locust monster, but failed to do so and only spewed out blood. Using this as an opportunity, Black Sun would jump behind the Spider Kaijin and put him on a chokehold, slowly but painfully tearing off his head.
