"Hello!!" Amy shouted, her voice echoing along the dark hallways of the abandoned warehouse building, "Is anyone there?!"
At 9 years old and standing just over three and a half feet tall, Amy was a rather playful girl, full of energy at all times it seemed. Her golden hair, pulled back in two think, round ponytails hanging from the back of her head and a red hairband just behind her bangs, now seemed to have lost it's shine in this shadowy building. She was dressed in her favorite pink shirt and red mini skirt. On the shirt, was a big red heart and a smaller pink heart. Across the shirt was the phrase "Have a Crush on You". She was also wearing her favorite white, think soled sandals complete with pink straps going over the top of her foot and around her ankles, another strap connecting her toe strap with the heel strap along the top length of her foot.
As she walked, Amy kept a hand on the right wall, feeling her way along the dark hallway. She had no idea why she'd actually gone in here. She'd originally been going to the supermarket to pick up some pie to play with back at home, but something had intrigued her, drawing her inside the darkness of this abandoned building, and whatever it was, kept drawing her in deeper and deeper.
Just then, Amy felt her foot step on something firm before it went crunch and crumpled flat under her sandal. She gasped and stepped back, looking down and squinting at the floor. She could just barely make out the shape of a smashed apple that someone had left on the floor. She looked at the pieces of apple and juice clinging to the sole of her sandal and stomped her foot in frustration.
"Now who would leave a perfectly good apple in a place like this?" Amy said to no one in particular. But then, she smiled a bit, "Oh well, at lease it was rather delicious for my sandal to smush it." She continued walking down the hallway.
After a little bit more walking, Amy found herself at a dead end. A wall, with nowhere else to go but back the way she'd come. She looked around, puzzled why a hallway would just end. She put both hands again the wall and felt around until, she felt a small bump on the wall. She brought her eyes up close and squinted at the bump.
"What?" Amy said, "It's some kind of button or something." She thought for a moment. "I wonder what it does." She slowly reached towards it but held back.
"Don't they always say something about not to push a button if you have no idea what it does?" Amy said, thinking to herself again. But then, she smiled and giggle. "Yeah right, it probably doesn't work anyway. After all, this place has been empty forever." And she reached out and pressed the button quite forcefully with her entire right hand.
Her smile vanished when she heard a loud click, and the whine of something starting up for only a moment, before it went silent again. Amy jerked her head from left to right, backing away slowly, her legs beginning to shake a little in fear.
"W-w-what was that?" Amy said, "Anyone there?!"
Just then, a strange green light appeared from the wall and shown on Amy. She gasped as the light moved up and down her body, apparently scanning her or something. She had no idea what was happening. But then, just as quickly as it appeared, the green light disappeared and the room went dark once more.
Amy relaxed a little in the dark, now more confused then ever. She looked herself over, noticing nothing different, but feeling an odd tingling feeling all over her body. Of course, in the dark, she couldn't see what was really happening to her.
"Well, that was sure strange." Amy said, "What in the world did that green light mean, and what did it do, if anything, to me?"
Just then, Amy felt her head bump into something above her rather hard. She knelt down, holding the top of her head with her hand and cringing.
"Ouch!" Amy said, "What in the world was that?" She turned and looked up and was startled by what she saw.
The ceiling of the hallway was only a few feet above her now and still getting closer. Amy gasped and looked around, realizing she was starting to press up against the walls of the hallway.
"What's, what's going on?!" Amy shouted, "I'm, I'm growing?!"
Indeed, Amy's three and a half foot tall body, had suddenly grown to over ten feet and was still growing even bigger. She felt the walls beginning to crack and break apart as her body expanded, smashing everything around her with little effort at all. She did her best to stay close to the ground but, within minutes, she was being pressed against the ceiling once again, with nowhere else to go. Reluctantly, Amy reached up with both hands, as well as her back, and pushed on the ceiling.
Outside, the warehouse heaved upwards as the building itself began to break apart, the roof starting to be pushed right off. Then, in a burst of debris, the warehouse collapsed as Amy's expanding body pushed the entire roof off, letting it crash down on the nearby buildings. As Amy continued to grow even more, anything remaining of the warehouse was completely demolished by her expanding sandals and legs.
Finally, at a grand height of 300 feet tall, almost as tall as the Statue of Liberty, Amy stopped growing. Still on one knee from trying to avoid breaking stuff from before, Amy slowly uncurled herself and looked around, before slowly standing up to her full height. She shuffled her feet slightly, hearing the debris from the warehouse crunching underfoot. She looked at herself, then looked around at the city all around her.
"Whoa!" Amy said, "Talk about growing up fast. I'm, I'm huge!" She looked around closely. "but wait, what is this place? This isn't my hometown. Where am I?!"
Amy lifted a foot and stepped forward. As she put her foot down, she didn't see another warehouse directly in her path, and she stepped on it and crushed a large section of it completely flat with the thick sole of her sandal. Amy gasped and looked down at the warehouse, a twisted and flattened wreak under her sandal.
"Oh my gosh!" Amy said, as she stepped back and kneeled down. She ripped apart the smashed warehouse with her hands, trying desperately to see if anyone had been unfortunate enough to be inside it. To her relief, she found no one to be inside. She slowly stood up and looked around again.
"Ok, this is really odd now." Amy said out loud, "I see tons of tiny cars and buildings, but not a single person. I even see vehicles moving around. I mean, hasn't anyone seen me yet? I take up the entire skyline now after all." She thought for a moment.
"Wait a minute." She said, "That green light thing. Maybe it transported me somewhere and made me huge like this. Like, maybe this is some kind of a game! That must be it! Maybe, I'm some kind of giant monster, and I get points for wreaking stuff! Why else would I be this huge in a city?!"
Her eyes went back to the warehouse she'd just stepped on accidentally. She admired how easily it'd been to crush it with her sandal.
"Come to think of it, that was really fun!" Amy said, "And it's so easy. Everything here is so fragile. I think, I'll do some more!"
Amy looked around and spotted a small group of apartment buildings and stepped towards them. They only reached as high as her knees. Placing a hand on a taller building nearby to steady herself, Amy smiled as she lifted a foot over the closest apartment building and placed it on top of the apartment building and began to gently press down on it.
Amy giggled as she watched the roof begin to sag downward beneath her sandal, pressing down on the next floor, in turn collapsing onto the next floor, and so on and so on, until the entire building collapsed in a pile of dust and rubble. Amy smushed the debris around with her foot, digging her toes into the mess and crushing large chunks of debris into smaller pieces between her toes. Then, she reached out and knocked over two more of the apartment buildings, letting them crash onto the mess from the first building, making the wreckage pile even bigger.
"Wow!" Amy said, laughing, "What a big mess I've made! It's all over the place. I think I'd better make it a little less messy." And she lifted a foot over the debris.
Amy stepped onto the pile with both feet, pressing on and trampling over the debris, compacting it into a solid mass of wreckage beneath her sandals. Each step threw up a small cloud of dust and was accompanied by a series of crunching noises as the debris ground against itself and broke apart and mashed together with each press of her sandals.
Finally, once the debris was so compacted that it barely crunched anymore, Amy stepped off the wreckage and into the nearby street. She noticed the street crack and break apart as her weight pressed down on the concrete, shattering and crunching with each step she took, leaving nice and dirty footprints behind her as she walked.
Amy's attention shifted as she heard the screeching of tires. She looked ahead and saw dozens of cars and trucks skidding to a stop ahead of her, crashing into each other in complete chaos. Amy laughed as one bus didn't even try to stop, and crashed into the thick sole of her left sandal, smashing itself against the immovable object and instantly coming to a stop.
"Awww!" Amy said, bending over and looking down at the wreaked bus, "Poor little bus, all broken and junk now." She pocked it with one finger and stood back up and lifted a foot. "Don't worry, It'll all be over for you now."
Amy's foot came down on the bus, gently resting on it's roof. She began to press ever so gently, rocking her foot from side to side. The roof began to crumple each time her foot rocked, and it's square shape quickly began to deform and crush down onto the seats inside. All the glass windows exploded, spraying glass across the street, and the roof crumpled down completely onto the frame of the bus. The tires exploded and bowed outward as the bus settled on the street, the unimaginable pressure from above smushing it against the pavement.
Finally, with a loud crunch, the bus disappeared beneath Amy's sandal, crushed six feet into the street in her massive, dirty footprint. Keeping her foot firmly planted, Amy bounced up and down on her foot, making sure to focus all her weight on the bus. Finally, she lifted her foot and looked down at her footprint, admiring what remained of the bus, now smushed to only a foot thick. She turned her foot over and giggled when she saw pieces of the bus sticking to the sole of her sandal.
"That was so much fun!" Amy said, "I'm so powerful here! I wonder how I'm doing at this game. I'll just have to step on some more stuff and see what my score is at the end of the game."
Putting her foot back down, Amy looked down at the street and smiled, watching the cars skid around and crash into each other. She smiled, raised her arms out to either side, and pretended to roar like a monster.
"Rawr!" Amy shouted, "Run for your lives! It's Amy-zilla!"
Amy lifted her foot up high, and stomped down onto the jam of cars and trucks. The thick sole of her sandal flattened several whole cars completely flat, with several others getting partially crushed, their remaining halves sticking out at sickening angles. Amy moved forward, other foot swinging forward high in the air, and stomped down again. Amy laughed as cars and trucks crushed and exploded beneath her feet, reduced to flattened metal pancakes in her large footprints behind her.
After making her way to the end of the street, and nearing a neighborhood, Amy looked back over her shoulder, admiring the mess of the street she'd made. Cars and trucks lay smashed and burning the entire length of the roadway behind her. She couldn't help but giggle.
"Wow!" Amy said, "It sure is easy to be messy here. I bet I'm getting a great score!"
Looking to her right, Amy noticed a small corner store sitting nearby. Her eyes squinted and her mouth curled, a mischievous look on her face.
"If I can crush stuff so easily with my cute sandals, I wonder what it's like stepping on stuff without them." Amy said, slowly removing her left sandal, and then her right sandal, "Let's give this a try."
Dropping her sandals onto two cars nearby, and smashing them flat in the impact, Amy lifted her bare foot over the corner store, wiggling her toes in the air as she slowly brought her foot down. Making sure to steady herself on a taller building nearby, Amy shivered slightly as the bare skin of her foot touched the metal sign on top of the building.
"Ooooh!" Amy said, "That's kinda cold. Oh well, here comes my foot!"
The metal sign crumpled, bending in such an unconventional fashion, that Amy couldn't help but giggle again at how badly she was wreaking it. She curled her toes around the sign and picked it up with her foot, letting it dangle for a moment before she effortlessly tossed it away.
"I bet I get bonus points for creative destruction!" Amy said excitedly. Her foot came back down directly on the store's roof, sinking in slightly. She wiggled her toes again, letting them rip and tear at the building's exterior and digging their way through the roof. Then, after a slight reposition of her foot, Amy stepped on it with the whole entirety of her foot.
About halfway through flattening the store, Amy felt something poke her foot with such pain, that she pulled her foot away quickly and hopped backwards.
"Ouch!!" Amy shouted, turning her foot over to check her bare sole, "What was that?!" Luckily, her foot wasn't injured at all. Amy peered inside the half-crushed store, trying to see what had poked her foot.
Seeing nothing in particular, and wiggling her toes to remove any debris from the store trapped between them, Amy pondered for a moment.
"I don't want to lose points for messing up a good crush like that." Amy said, "I'd better put my sandals back on if I'm gonna step on stuff like that." So, she casually put her sandals back on her feet, and proceeded to utterly destroy what remained of the store, by jumping on it over and over with both feet, shaking the ground and tossing debris all over the street with her kicking feet.
"There!" Amy said, shuffling her feet through the rubble of the store again, "I hope I didn't lose too many points from that. But I bet I smashed it flat enough to make up for any loses." She looked down at the rubble under her feet and giggled. "I messed it up so bad it doesn't even resemble a building anymore! Oh well, time to keep going."
Amy walked off the crushed store and down the street, flattening cars and trucks everywhere she stepped. Before long, Amy came across a river that ran through town, a rather large river even at her size. She wiggled her toes as she watched boats and ships slowly sailing past and she soon got an idea.
"Ships must be big points!" Amy said, "I hope I can crush them even if they are in water and not just sink them." She stepped alongside the river and slowly dripped a foot, still wearing her sandals, into the water. It was kinda cold but nothing Amy couldn't handle and she decided to step right in.
The water only reached up to just above Amy's ankles, barely covering her sandals and feet, so she was more then comfortable at walking down the river. Each step sent up huge waves that rocked and sometimes flipped over boats ahead of her. But some of the larger ships didn't move so easily.
Amy spotted one ship that wasn't just tolerating the waves, it was also coming towards her.
"Oh no you don't little ship." Amy said with a grin on her face and she intentionally shifted her direction until she was heading right for it. Then, with her next step, she stepped right on top of the ship.
The ship was instantly pushed underwater by Amy's sandal and she lost sight of it. But she quickly felt the ship as it hit the river bottom and stopped. However, her foot did not stop going down and she felt the ship begin to crush and flatten out beneath her foot. Finally, with a muffled crunch, Amy watched as pieces of the ship rose to the surface and floated away.
"Hahaha!" Amy laughed, "An underwater crush! Who would've guessed?! Well, lets see what else I find here."
Amy stomped down the river until she spotted the ultimate prize, a large suspension bridge that crossed the river just ahead. Amy grinned, her eyes narrowing as she anticipate having fun with this one.
As Amy stepped up next to the bridge, she saw it only came up to her knees. She watched as hundreds of cars and trucks skidded around and crashed into each other on the bridge. Amy couldn't help but laugh as she watched the chaos.
"If I cause that much trouble just by standing here, I can't wait to see what happens when I do this!" Amy said, lifting a foot over the bridge. Tons of water rained down on the bridge as her soaked foot and sandal slowly came down on the bridge, crushing several cars flat. Amy very slowly applied some weight onto her foot and leaned forward, listening to the bridge creak and groan in protest to so much stress. But it didn't break.
"Wow!" Amy said, "A tough one! Well then, I wonder if it'll let me stand on it."
Reaching out to each side, Amy grabbed each of the two tall towers holding up the cables of the bridge and very carefully lifted her other foot out of the water, putting all her weight on the bridge, and placing her foot on the bridge next to her first foot, crushing even more cars beneath it. The bridge again groaned and began to buckle and bend under her feet. Even the towers began to bend over, Amy's fingers twisting the steel as she held on tightly. For a moment, Amy believed the bridge was too tough to smash.
Then, all of a sudden, the section of bridge directly beneath her feet cracked in half, causing Amy to suddenly fall straight down, crushing a huge section of the bridge beneath her feet as she landed in the river again with an enormous crash! She never fell down, instead remaining on her feet and watching as the bridge collapsed into the river, causing hundreds of cars and trucks to splash into the water all around her feet.
Amy laughed once again. "I guess I was wrong! You can't handle me at all! Hahahahaha!" She proceeded to rip down what was left of the two towers and then climbed back onto land and re-entered the city to do some more smashing and crushing of cars and buildings.
As Amy flattened a small store beneath her feet, she then noticed a pair of large tanker trucks parked nearby. Squatting down on the rubble of the store, Amy carefully pulled each truck closer to her and looked at them.
"What cute little trucks!" Amy said, standing back up to her full height and looking down at them, slowly lifting a foot, "But it's time to go squish!"
She stomped the first truck with her foot, completely flattening it against the street. The tanker's trailer burst open, spilling some kind of vegetable oil all over the street in a large puddle. Another stomp and the second truck crumpled flat and burst open, spilling it's liquid cargo as well. The puddle only grew bigger around Amy's sandals.
Shifting her feet to make sure ever part of the trucks were flattened, Amy began twisting her feet back and forth, ripping and tearing the trucks apart. As she did, she noticed her sandals beginning to slip and slide around a bit in the vegetable oil that had been in the truck's trailers and was now all over the street. She put her hands out to either side, trying to steady herself.
She wobbled even more and tried to grab a building to steady herself but her hand missed the corner of the building as she swung wildly until, with an enormous crash, Amy's feet flew out from under her and she fell backwards on her backside, right on top of several apartment buildings. Her rump destroyed three of the apartment buildings instantly, reducing them to dust and debris, and severely damaged two more buildings with the earthquake caused by her falling body. Her feet and legs landed next, crushing several cars and trucks and tearing the street apart.
"Owwie!" Amy shouted, "That kinda hurt! I just now that hurt my score too." She looked around as she slowly stood back up, rubbing her backside and brushing the dust and debris off her red mini skirt.
"Well, maybe it's not as bad as I thought." Amy said, "I did wreak a lot of stuff so I bet that balanced out the points I lost."
As she looked around once more, Amy noticed a bakery just down the street and walked up to it. The entire building was only as tall as her ankle. She bent down and ripped the roof off the small building and tossed it away where it shattered to pieces down the street. She dug around inside the building for a moment with a hand.
"Aw nuts." Amy said, "If only these pies were bigger. It's not fun to step on them when they are so small." She stood back up and carefully put her foot inside the bakery and twisted it around back and forth, smushing every single pie, and most of the other contents of the bakery, under the thick sole of her sandal. After making a mess of the inside, Amy simply knocked over the walls of the bakery and left it a pile of rubble.
As she turned to walk away, Amy didn't notice a speeding tanker truck slam on it's brakes and skid right under Amy's descending foot. Her sandal caught the truck and demolished it like a biscuit with a loud crunch. The trailer, which had been carrying orange juice, exploded and spilled all over the street. But this time, Amy was caught completely off guard and fell instantly, without even getting a chance to try to catch herself. As Amy smashed on top of even more buildings, she closed her eyes and screamed loudly.
When Amy opened her eyes, she was surprised where she was. It was the floor of her bedroom in her own house.
"What?!" Amy said, looking around, "Where am I?! My bedroom? Ah nuts! Was I dreaming the whole thing?!"
Amy stood up and stamped her foot. "I must've rolled out of bed while having that fantastic dream! But why, why did it have to be a dream?! I was having such a good time!"
Just then, Amy got a great idea.
"But why does it have to stay a dream?" she said, "I bet I can build a fun little city and smash it up just like my dream! Yeah, that's what I'll do!"
Amy ran to her closet, grabbed the same red shirt, mini skirt and sandals that she'd worn in her dream and ran off to begin gathering supplies to make her toy city. It was going to be a very fun day after all!
