I think in the grand scheme of things: Jerry probably had a harder time dealing with Tuffy than with Tom. I mean, at least with Tom, he knew who he was dealing with.

I always got the feeling that when he passed the musketeer initiation, they intentionally stopped drawing him in diapers for the rest of the episode, illustrating that he had come of age.
