I was 5 years old, and my dad took me to see the Giants play.  It was my first baseball game at Candlestick Park, and Willie Mays was playing. From then on I was hooked!  While I never really played the game well myself, I enjoy going to games 58 years later.

Even after he retired, any time there was a televised event that included Willie Mays as a guest, I had to watch it!

I was crying when I heard he'd passed away.  However, I'm glad he lived so long.
