We started this one a bit late for the D-Day Anniversary but... better late than never!
A commission for Willy Joe featuring Aaron and Kenny Kitsune of FA
After hearing stories about World War 2 from their grandparents, Willy Joe and Crew pretend to be brave Allied soldiers taking the fight to the Nasties!
Visual Description: This is a 2 panel comic page. The bottom panel is the "real life" picture of four babyfurs playing WW2. The top panel is cloud shaped, showing their imagination as they storm the beaches of Normandy in (nearly) period accurate uniforms!
Real Life: Willy Joe is a light green bear cub with green eyes and a lighter green muzzle and markings. He leads the charge, armed with a nerf ball blaster, a yellow toy construction helmet with a light on it, a blue, Captain America themed t-shirt, and a green and blue disposable diaper. On his back is a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles backpack shaped like a shell. Willy Joe is shouting: "Let's go get dem evil Nasties!"
Kenny Kitsune is a orange furred fox kit with blue eyes, a white fox tail tip, and brown "socks" and "gloves" fur patterns. He following Willy Joe, armed with a six barreled suction dart blaster. He has a blue baseball helmet on his head, a green T-shirt, and a blue balloon themed disposable diaper. He has a blue backpack on his back that is the same color as his helmet. He has a green balloon tied to his tail. Kenny is shouting: "Recon bloony de-floyd!"
Kala is a light blue furred bear cub with lighter blue markings around the muzzle and other places. She also has a yellow toy construction helmet, a pink shirt, a purple, princessy diaper. She is advancing forward with a yellow and green Super Soaker 50. Kala is shouting: "Air-spike inbound!"
Aaron is bringing up the right of the line. He is a warm, brown furred fox kit. He has two tails, both tipped in a light tan. His eyes are brown. He has a red baseball helmet on his head, and a nerf yellow arrow gun on a strap held to his shoulder. He is waering a Sonic themed T-shirt and a sonic themed diaper with golden rings that probably disappear when wet. Aaron is the comms cub and is holding a baby monitor, pretending it's a handheld radio. He is shouting: "Arsillery cor-nats sent!"
The little ones are playing in their sandbox. They have a large cardboard box behind the sandbox with the top cut off and the front lowered down (to look like a landing craft). On the side of the sandbox, "US Army is written (in a silly toddler style) in gold crayon with a star drawn in the middle. A crude drawing of the blue and white striped emblem of the US Army's 3rd Division is also on the box. *Willy Joe has family history with the 3rd Division, though they were not actually present during the Normandy landings. The sandbox is in a well kept yard with brown fencing around it. Pointy, tall shrubs rise above the fence in the background. The sky is blue and there are few clouds.
Imagination: In a cloud shaped thought bubble panel, we see the imagination of the kiddos. They are all wearing olive drab US Infantry uniforms and are storming the beaches of Normandy with realistic looking equipment. All of them have white disposable diapers (yes, they didn't have disposables back then, but this is their imagination so I figured I could get away with it!) with olive drab markings. The uniforms all have patches identifying them as the US Army 3rd Division (again, not actually present during the invasion).
Willy Joe is a light green bear cub with green eyes and a lighter green muzzle and markings. He leads the charge, armed with a Thompson light machine gun, Willy Joe is shouting: "Let's go get dem evil Nasties!"
Kenny Kitsune is a orange furred fox kit with blue eyes, a white fox tail tip, and brown "socks" and "gloves" fur patterns. He following Willy Joe, also armed with a Thompson light machine gun. He has a small barrage balloon tied to his tail. Kenny is shouting: "Recon bloony de-floyd!"
Kala is a light blue furred bear cub with lighter blue markings around the muzzle and other places. She is advancing forward with a BAR. Kala is shouting: "Air-spike inbound!"
Aaron is bringing up the right of the line. He is a warm, brown furred fox kit. He has two tails, both tipped in a light tan. His eyes are brown. He has a M1 Garand slung over his shoulder. Aaron is the comms cub and is holding a handheld radio. He is shouting: "Arsillery cor-nats sent!"
Behind the cubs is a Landing craft with the words: US ARMY painted on the side of the hull. The ramp is open, allowing the cubs to enter very shallow water. The beach is ahead of them as a single bullet from the enemy side misses it's mark and penetrates the water off to the side. On the beach is a small metal tank trap, x shaped and wrapped with barbed wire. The Normandy sky is grey and cloudy and the horizon is shrouded in fog. Allied aircraft soar overhead as a Battleship lends artillery support. Numerous transport ships and barrage balloons float on the horizon.
