~Chapter 34: Coming Home~

--Miyu's Quarters, Great Fox, the next morning, 09:23--

Miyu, Krystal and Leo slept soundly all through the night after the final event of the Grand Prix and the celebratory dinner that followed.  Many happy times shared with friends and even Star Wolf together as they ate and drank to all their successes that day.  The early morning brought the sound of soft pants and coos from Leo as Miyu woke up.  She then peeked her eyes open and saw Krystal was awake nuzzling the top of Leo's head as he remained asleep, the sounds coming from him as he was still asleep and deep into an erotic dream, his entire body fidgeting and squirming softly under the covers, an obvious tent underneath them over his bulge with a spot of pre on the sheets at the tip.
Krystal noticed Miyu awaken and smiled over her way with a wink, the sight making Miyu smile as she joined in on watching their bunny dream.  “Morning, sweet vixy,” Miyu whispered.

Leo stretched softly with his arms still wrapped around Miyu and Krystal softly, groaning a bit as he slept in the same position all that time.  “Oof... I feel a lot better though,” Leo said softly.
“I could tell you also had a lovely dream to finish it all off, too,” Miyu said with a giggle.

She bent down and wrapped her arms around his middle and effortlessly picked Leo up and draped him over her shoulder as Krystal got out of bed and stood up.
“Hehehe  I see a butt,” Krystal said, giving Leo's butt cheek a poke with her finger, the sensation making his spade tail wiggle happily.

“Eeee, cuties,” Miyu responded as she carried Leo off to the shower, Krystal in tow.  Krystal was feeling happier now that Leo and Miyu were gracious enough to bring her into their relationship.  She was also happy how well they all got along with each other, especially with how open and playful they were.  She always knew Miyu had a playful streak, even when being a tickle-inducing combat instructor and trainer.  It was a bit of a challenge at first when she began to know Miyu, but overall, Krystal was still very thankful for meeting her.  The fact that Leo was playful in nature like Miyu was really helped things a lot.  She felt it was one of the things she rarely got when she was with Fox.
They all walked into the exercise room showers, their underwear quickly getting stripped down as they all entered the steamy hot water and began to douse sponges with soap to clean each other off with.  Leo smiled as he concentrated on cleaning off Krystal and Miyu with each hand, the girls cleaning him off with their hands while they all held close together and nuzzled each other happily, their tails wagging happily as they got clean.  Leo smiled the whole time as he helped clean off his lovely ladies, his mind still asking that same question he had kept asking himself for the better part of the last year...  is this all really happening?  He finally decided to take it all in stride and just get over it, tired of all the loneliness and depression, eager to leaving it behind him now that he was with Miyu and Krystal.
They took a good 20 minutes to clean up in the shower before rubbing each other off with towels and spending more time in the hot air tumblers.  It was just a few minutes before 10 o'clock when they began to get dressed in some clothing that was somewhat formal for photos to come during the awards ceremony in the afternoon.  They all walked out of the Great Fox and on towards the cooking and dining tent Sid ran for the event, wanting a heavy celebratory breakfast.  When they walked in, they were waved over by Fox and Wolf sitting across from each other at one of the many benches having food.
“Hey there guys, glad you could make it for breakfast,” Wolf said with a smile.
“Hey there Wolf, good to see you again,”  Leo said, giving O'Donnell a handshake before sitting next to Fox, Miyu and Krystal sitting to Leo's other side.  Leon sat next to Wolf having breakfast as well, but Panther was nowhere to be seen.
“No Panther?” Leo asked curiously.
“Ehh... you could say that,”  Wolf stated.
“Will he be along later?  I wanted to congratulate him on his performance,” Leo said, his words making Krystal and Miyu slightly raise an eyebrow.
“As much as I'd be happy to have that happen, we're not sure what happened to him,” Wolf replied.  Leo, Miyu and Krystal's eyes went wider in confusion.
“What do you mean?” Krystal asked.
“We were supposed to meet at the hotel lobby this morning, but he was nowhere to be found,” Leon began to explain.  “We checked with the front desk and they said he checked out in the middle of the night, and he left a small sealed bag with his phone and his wings with the front desk clerk, and only told them to give them to either me or Wolf.”  Wolf brought out the bag in question to show them as proof... Panther had left Star Wolf.
Several moments of silence went by as Leo, Krystal and Miyu took in all the news, then Leo spoke up with semi-limp ears.  “Well... wherever he goes... I hope he does his best,” Leo said softly.  “Because despite him trying to kill me in that flip, I could sense that he was trying to do his best in that race.”
Everyone smiled and nodded softly to Leo's words.  “And Fox here will be able to verify it when I tell you now Leo, that I did NOT order him to do that to you at all,” Wolf said, a slight bit of nervousness in his voice that Leo picked up on, Fox smiling and nodding in agreement.
“I believe you, Wolf.  Thank you so much,” Leo said with a smile, making eye contact with Wolf.
Sid then came by and took food orders for everyone while everyone sat and chatted away for a long time going into the early afternoon, former foes now friends and allies.  Once the time came by for the awards ceremony, everyone had a couple hours to prep for proper attire and placement of their vehicles for photos.  Wolf and Leon happily parked their Wolfen Redfang and Rainbow Delta craft side by side across from all of the Arwings of the Star Fox team.  In the middle, they placed both of the Landmasters that drove in the first day's off-road events and the center was focused upon General Pepper's classic and highly-modified off-road diesel pickup along with Leo's Speedwell Cushman LX in the center.  The trio from the popular car show were there to broadcast the final events and ceremonies as well, distributing trophies and medals for many.
When Leo sat on the hood of his car with Krystal and Miyu by his sides, his arms wrapped around them lovingly, he couldn't help but smile the whole time, and incredible dopamine high in his being as he even noticed his and Miyu's parents in the front row standing together waving and giving thumbs up and blowing kisses to them as they stood there.  Miyu smiled and smooched Leo's cheek as they stood for photos.  “Mwah... still think you're dreaming, kyootiebun?” she asked in her adorable voice.
He couldn't help but smile, his eyes watering up at the emotional high of everything he never thought he'd ever have....  “...Nah... I've grown used to it by now,” he replied with a smile.
“That's our bun,” Krystal and Miyu said sweetly.

--two weeks later, the streets of Miyamoto Estates, East Corneria City, 15:12--

Leo drove in his Speedwell at cruising speed through the streets of Corneria City, finally taking time to fully enjoy the creation he made of his car over several years of time and thousands of credits of his hard-earned paychecks.  He was loving the smooth and quiet ride it provided, the comfortable air conditioning when it was necessary along with the power options and premium sound system that came as an option on this particular model.  He was glad he had the time on his day off to fully enjoy and appreciate the many hours and lots of money put into his work, not to mention all the cuts and scrapes he suffered in making this car into what it now was totally worth it.
He stopped for snacks and fuel at a gas station and was stopped by several people wanting autographs and photos with him, congratulating him on his win in the Grand Prix.  He even popped the hood and showed a small crowd all that he did to make his car what is was, and he got huge amounts of positive comments and praise for it.  He even got an offer from a builder to make him a powerplant for one of his vehicles that would perform just as well, be Leo politely turned it down, telling them that his creation was his own ideas and he didn't feel like selling it and continued on his way.
Another focus on his day off was not just to drive his car and enjoy it for the first time in town ever, but he decided to drive around and look at houses and buildings that were fairly new in Corneria City to try and spark some new creative ideas for his future building projects.  He felt that after the mass creation of what became a literal new metropolis in Corneria after the war was making him crave new ideas for anything that may come in the future, and something for him and Miyu to talk about in their working time to make a new city elsewhere.  What he and Miyu had created was working well and improving and expanding over time, as they had designed it to do.  Corneria was a thriving megalopolis in the Lylat system now thanks partly to his and Miyu's efforts.
After several hours, he finally drove down a quiet and tree-covered street in the corner of Corneria City that was on the edge of the nearby Adams Forest that covered a huge portion of that corner of Corneria.  Many big and high-priced houses were here with very little in the way of commercial businesses and public parks.  He got many ideas in this area, but when he came to the end of the cul-de-sac he drove down, his eyes couldn't help but become stuck on what he saw there.  So much so, that he forced himself to stop in the middle of the street and then backed up on the curb to park and get out.
He looked from the sidewalk and smiled for a few minutes as he took it all in, until his mind was interrupted by a male voice nearby.  “Hey there, aren't you Leo Cuttridge?” he asked.
“That would be me,” Leo said with a smile.
“Oh wow, congratulations on your win in the Grand Prix!  I made a lot of money off you!” he replied with an excited voice.
“Aww, thank you,”  Leo replied.  He had a feeling that would be a phrase he'd be hearing a lot in the near future.  “I'm glad it worked out well for you.”  He looked some more off into the distance behind her.  “Say... has this place just come onto the market...?”

--Corneria Air Force Base, Krystal's office, 16:53--

The sound of rapid keyboard taps came from within Krystal's office as she sat and finished up her final reports and exams for her nursing license.  She was feeling very good about everything that she has studied and practiced for while working with Amanda and was very much looking forward to not only learning more from her in on-the-job practice, but also trying to assist her even more with psychological and mental issues with patients as she has been since the end of the war.  Krystal proved herself to be very beneficial in that field and was incredibly pleased to help so many people, along with the fact her involvement helped expedite over 90% of cases toward treatments and even cures.
She had just finished the last of her typing and saving her documents on her network drive when Miyu walked up and gently knocked on the window in the office door.  Krystal smiled and waved her in.  “Hi there, kitty,” the gorgeous blue vixen said.
“Hewwo, sweet vixy,” Miyu said, giving Krystal a hug and a smooch on the cheek as she lifted her off her feet for a few seconds, something both she and Leo absolutely adored of Miyu and her strength.  “How'd the testing go?”
“I know I passed it,” Krystal said, collecting her phone and purse along with a few document folders to take to a wall file down the hall.  “Glad to have it all over with, and the fun we had at the Grand Prix certainly was a good relaxing help.”
“Oh, I know, it was so much fun,” Miyu replied.  “Can't wait to do that next year.”  She then nudged Krystal's side a bit.  “You should enter your Cloudrunner in next year.”
“Eep... you think so?” she said with a blushing smile.
“Definitely, come in and join the fun on the track with the rest of us,” Miyu encouraged.
“Mmm... m-maybe...” she started, then both her cell phone and Miyu's rang out with an alert for an incoming message.

"	Leo Cuttridge: You girls almost off duty? Miyu Lynx: Just about~ What are we doing for dinner? Leo Cuttridge: Actually, there's something I need you two's input on before dinner if I can ask for it...? Regardless of what we decide, we can get dinner soon afterwords...

Both girls raised an eyebrow in curiosity and confusion. “Wonder what he's talking about?” Krystal asked.
“Might as well join him and find out,” Miyu replied as she tapped on her phone a reply.

"	Miyu Lynx: Okaaaaaay. We can do that. Leo Cuttridge: Awesome~ Meet me at 32693 Cuthbert Court asap. It's at the end of the road just a turn off Goddard Way. Miyu Lynx: We'll be there soon~

--32693 Cuthbert Court, Miyamoto Estates, East Corneria City, 20 minutes later--

Miyu drove Leo's other car down the streets of East Corneria City to the destination specified in the last messages from Leo.  They were greeted by many upscale houses in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood, the grass very green and many gardens and trees filling the space surrounding all the properties.  When they got to the end of the cul-de-sac, they spotted the address given... and their jaws and eyes went wide in amazement as they parked on the curb in front of it.
They saw before them a huge multi-level house that was in the style of a deep woods cabin, a huge green front yard along with an attached three-car garage.  Leo's Speedwell was in one of the spots in the driveway along with another car that they did not recognize.  The most telling feature out of everything they saw upon approach was that there was a For Sale sign in the front yard.
“Oooohhhh.... my... goodness...” Krystal said in amazement.
“That's what I was thinking,” Miyu said.  “This place is gorgeous!”
They then got out of Leo's other car and walked up the walkway to the front door, stopped halfway and looked around at the neighborhood.  They were pleased to see the sights of semi-distant neighbors with a good amount of seclusion at the end of the street, the sounds of birds and crickets chirping all around with the buzzing of fireflies in the evening autumn air made them smile non-stop.  They continued the rest of the way up the walkway to the front door, seeing the front of the house had a porch area that was covered by mesh screening to keep the bugs out.  The front door then opened before they could knock on the door or ring the doorbell.  They were greeted by Leo who smiled and waved at them with a bending eartip.  “Surprise!” he said cheerfully.
“Not really,” Miyu said with a giggle.  “You told us to come here, doofus,” she replied giving a wink and a blep of her tongue.
“Well... okay, good point,” Leo said with a chuckle, all three of them laughing shortly at that exchange of words.  “But come on in and check this place out!” he continued, grabbing their hands and pulling them into the living room of the house.  The living room was massive with a huge three-piece suite of sitting arrangement surrounding a big coffee table that was right before a massive fireplace with a huge flat screen TV mounted above it.  Everything appeared to be made out of wood in rough-cut design just like a cabin in the woods would have.  They looked around and saw there were many more rooms in many more directions throughout the house.
They could hear a male voice talking softly from someone in a neighboring room just off in the distance who soon came in as he turned his cell phone off.  In walked a weasel that was almost as tall as Leo was, wearing a business suit with a bit of a stocky build.  “Hey Leo, my company said they would be more than happy to take an additional 75 off because it is you,” he said.
“Seriously?  Wow, that is amazing,” Leo said.
“We're all very excited to have you as a home buyer should you decide to agree,” the weasel said.  “And of course... if your lovely ladies agree as well.”
“Oh yes, these are the loves of my life, Miyu Lynx and Miss Krystal,” Leo began.  “Girls, this is Michael Calhoun, Corneria Real Estate.”
“Pleased to meet you, ladies,” Michael said, offering his hand to shake first to Miyu and then to Krystal.
“Likewise, sir,” Miyu said.
“Pleased to meet you as well, good sir,” Krystal said formally.
“They're both not only Cornerian military, but also members of Star Fox,” Leo added.
“Mighty nice, thank you both for your service,” Michael said in a proper military salute. “I myself spent four years in the Cornerian Army.  The first few years off and on in Katina and then I took station on Venom for the first year of the invasion.”
“Seriously?” Miyu asked in surprise.  “Where were you at?”
“I was at the airport in Venoma City,” Michael replied with a grin.
“Aaaaahhhhh so YOU were responsible for many of the successful provisions drops in Venom during our raid!” Miyu said proudly, giving Michael a proper and proud salute.  “I, Lieutenant Miyu Lynx thank you humbly for all your efforts, as you made it possible for us to be as successful as we were.”
Michael proudly stood at attention and saluted back to Miyu. “It was my great honor to have served and helped you all out, Lt Lynx,” Michael said.  Leo and Krystal smiled at the camaraderie between officers being displayed before them.  “So, shall we take a look at the house?”
“Yeah, girls, this place is soooo amazing!” Leo said ecstatically.
“O-okay, but...” Miyu said, giggling and blushing a bit at the same time in a reserved stance.
“What...?” Leo began.  “You don't wanna?”
“Oh, I do!” Miyu started in her usual happy and chipper self.  “I just... wasn't thinking you would be interested in getting a house in the future.”
“Well... you didn't want to live in that apartment for the rest of your life, did you?” Leo asked calmly, his ear drooping a bit.
“I mean... no, I didn't,” Miyu said with a smile, leaning in to hug and nuzzle Leo's cheek softly.  “I just... it's a bit of a pleasant surprise, that's all.”
“Come on,” Leo began, wrapping an arm around Miyu and dragging Krystal in to hold them by his sides lovingly.  “You two... ARE... my life... and I wanna spend it here with both of you.  In our own home that WE own, and that we can share with friends.  I mean that, I really do,” he concluded, tears coming to his eyes as he began to weep and cry a little.
Tears came to Miyu's and Krystal's eyes at Leo's words as they stood in the living room, the three of them suddenly hugging tight together.  “You're right, sweetie,” Miyu said.  “We all need a place we can all call our own.”
“I am so thankful you both have included me in this,” Krystal began.  “I can never thank either of you enough.”
“It is because you are one very strong soul, Krystal,” Leo said.
“And like I keep saying, my best student,” Miyu continued, she and Leo giving a kiss to Krystal's cheeks sweetly.  Miyu then smiled and turned towards the realtor.  “So... let's umm... take a tour?”
“I'd be happy to show you all around,” Michael said happily.  “As you can see the whole house is a deep woods cabin design inside and out.  The front door entry is enclosed by a staircase that goes up to the second level that heads to the bedrooms upstairs.”  He pointed into the entryway and pointed out the small closets on either side of the front door which were excellent coat rooms.  He then pointed over to the left of the house.  “Over there is your laundry room and cleaning closet with front-load washer and dryer.  This living room section is one half of one big room semi-separated by this huge mantle in the center with a functioning fireplace.  The other half is the dining room,” he said as he guided them behind the mantle, the fireplace not having a back wall so you could see through from one room to the other.  “Rather large dining area with plenty of seating for many guests.”
“I love the fireplace and how it caters to two rooms at once,” Krystal said.
“It is incredibly beautiful,” Miyu said.
“Over here, next to the washroom is the kitchen,” Michael said as they walked from the dining room.  It was a very big space with lots of counter top space and even an island for serving and cooking with a secondary smaller cook top.  “And this door as well as the pair of sliding doors in the dining room both lead out into the back deck area.  There is a genuine rock-built grill and smoker unit right by the door here to the kitchen.”  There was also a lot of picnic benches and chairs in the deck area for lots more seating.  Like the house, it was all made of wood that had a deep cherry stain to it.
Krystal looked up into the sky above them.  “This deck has a gorgeous skyview above it.”
“It also has an electric sunscreen shade in case it gets too bright,” Michael said as he pressed on a switch on the back wall to the house right by the sliding doors to the dining room.  Above them, a sunscreen mesh began to slide out from a reel mounted above the doors and slid along a track that after nearly half a minute covered the deck, providing an excellent shade.
“Very nice,” Miyu said.  “It already feels cooler.”
“Oh hey, Krystal, check this out,” Leo said as he took Krystal's hand and lead her across the huge back yard towards the rear of the property.  The back yard was surrounded entirely by trees and bushes, the rear underneath a lot of trees with high branches, the lowest at least 12 feet off the ground.  They all soon walked to a small enclosed and gated round area with a huge water pond that had a ten foot high sculpted waterfall, another circular sitting area before it with a fire pit that was at lest 4 feet wide.  “This would be a perfect meditation area, I think.”
“Oh definitely!” Krystal said with wide eyes and smile.  “It is so beautiful!”
“It looks very similar in layout to my parents place,” Miyu said.
“It certainly is gorgeous inside and out, all over the property,” Michael commented.  “Shall we continue back in the house?”
“Definitely, yes,” Krystal said, her big blue tail wagging behind her happily.
They walked back into the house through the double sliding doors into the dining room and then walked up another set of stairs that was off across from the mantle, then they toured the bedrooms.  The master bedroom above the laundry room was enormous, and enclosed private bathroom with a jetted tub and shower within it.  Plenty of room to have their huge bed inside it and lots of walk-in closet space inside.  The two guest bedrooms were above the kitchen and still quite large with easy room for a King bed in each.  About one third of the floor of all three bedrooms stuck out from the edge of the house to created a cover for the front porch on the side of the house as well.
They then headed back down to the garage, one of Leo's favorite places.  It was three parking spaces with a lot of shelving and overhead storage space, and one of the spaces had a pit you could step down into for under-car maintenance.  The same spot also had a scissor lift on the sides of the pit in the event a car needed to be raised up off it's wheels.  It even had a wash basin right next to the door with a drain in the floor.  “I can store my cars in here and even work on them for oil changes and stuff!” he said.
“Bunny's happy spot,” Miyu said with a smile.
“One last room to show,” Michael said as he guided them from the garage and through a door that led into a huge room that had a lot of seating along with a desk and a projector screen on one of the walls.  There was also a bar with appropriate table and stools around it.  The ceiling was very high and the room seemed to stick out further into the back yard than the kitchen did.  “A nice big room that could be used as a party room, entertainment room... anything for a lot of people to hang out in.”
Leo walked over to the bar and looked over it while Michael followed him, Krystal nudging Miyu's arm gently after looking over the huge room.  “I think this room will be PERFECT for bunny's birthday gift... to help make his dream from a couple weeks ago come true,” Krystal telepathed to Miyu's mind.  Miyu then grinned mischievously and nodded slowly.
“It's a date,” Miyu whispered into Krystal's ear.
Leo then returned to Krystal and Miyu and held their hands in his.  “Soooo?  What do you both thiiiink?” he said cutely, his spade shaped tail wagging happily.
“I like it a lot,” Miyu said.
“Me too.  I think we should get it!” Krystal added.
“Totally agree,” Leo said.
“Marvelous!  It's fairly late to get financial stuff done today, but if you could all leave me some info, I can get proceedings started in the morning and we can reconvene in a future date and get everything settled,” Michael added.
“Sounds good to me,” Leo said. “We need to get dinner soon anyway.”

--Chalmer's Diner, 18:45--

Leo drove his Speedwell to Chalmer's with Miyu and Krystal coming with him.  He figured that his Speedwell would be more recognized to him by others than his other car, so he left his other car at the house to pick up later after dinner.  Not that he didn't like the fame brought upon him by his wins in the Grand Prix recently, but he thought it better to not associate a recognized object like his car in a new neighborhood like Miyamoto Estates until it was absolutely necessary.
Once he parked in the front, the three of them hopped out of the car and skipped happily to the front door, Krystal opening the door for Leo and Miyu.  Leo motioned the way in to Miyu, but she instead happily picked up Leo in her arms and carried him in with Krystal in tow, the trio chuckling happily as they found a round table to sit at, Miyu and Krystal on Leo's sides.  They only sat for a minute or two before Sid came up with glasses of water and silverware and napkins for them.  “Hello my favorite friends,” he said in his usual chipper manner.
“Hi uncle Sid!”  They all said happily.
“How is everyone this evening?” the platypus asked.
“We're celebrating tonight, Sid,” Leo said happily.
“Ooh?  What's the occasion?” Sid asked politely with a smile.
“We just bought a house!” Krystal said excitedly.
“Oh my goodness, that is wonderful news!  Congrats on your success, you three!” Sid said, giving a big tight hug to Miyu before going to the other side to hug Krystal and then Leo.
“Well, it is in the process, anyway,” Miyu said.  “But with how excellent our credit is, it's pretty much guaranteed.  So therefore, we be VERY hungry!”
“Have you all thought about a house party to celebrate once you've moved in?” Sid asked.
“Haven't thought that far ahead yet,” Leo said.
“Miyu and I have only known about it since we got off work a couple hours ago,” Krystal said.  “But I think once we are all settled and moved in, that could be a possibility.”
“If you should all desire, I would LOVE to cater for the party,” Sid said proudly.
“We will definitely consider that,” Miyu said. “Thank you uncle Sid.”
“My pleasure, my friends,” Sid said happily.  “Have you thought about dinner tonight?”
“Crispy chicken-strawberry salad with the tangy dressing, large portion,” Krystal said.
“16-oz steak, medium, with mashed potatoes and gravy and mixed veggies,” Leo replied.
“TWO Triple Power Burgers!  With an extra large order of salsa fries and coleslaw, because those are to die for,” Miyu said happily with a giggle, her nubtail wagging behind her so happily.
“Marvelous choices,” Sid said as he scribbled down their order. “I'll go and get it going,” he said as he hobbled off to the kitchen.  Leo wrapped an arm around his lovely Miyu and Krystal, bunnypurring happily as they all sat together and waited for food, their dopamine levels high as they reveled in their moment of sheer bliss, feeling happier than any other time in their entire lives.
