Candy finds herself in a bad situation, being chained in the middle of the Fatpires' court, to be tried for these crimes and these failures to respect the law governed by the council.
Candy cannot escape being chained by chains bewitched by ice magic, the weak point of the fatpires, being the opposite of their power of fire, a blessing offered by the primary fire. But also, she is watched by guards who make sure she stays calm.
She is here, in court to be judged because she does not respect the law written by the council which strictly requires that each fatpire must remain discreet when attacking prey and using their powers to link to the fire.
Unfortunately, Candy attacks a prey or two who are very well known in the public and the difference in weight before and after sucking the fat is too obvious. For the use of her power, she uses it in illegal street fighting competitions by making people believe that she is a fire mage and that she is also involved in some criminal events, which involve burning buildings and the death of three criminals.
Three verdicts are possible as represented on the ground by three symbols surrounding candy.
- Death represents condemnation by public execution. - Life represents liberation from all condemnation, with preservation for life. - Fire represents a punishment which is not a death sentence, but a sentence that the judged person must undergo in the name of primary fire so as not to dishonor this divinity.
Fortunately, Candy avoided the death penalty for her offense against the council's laws, thanks to her mentor, Eden, who took half of the blame for losing sight of their ward, who fled their care, just as they were supposed to be teaching Candy how a fatpire should live in society.
Given that Eden was a former member of the council before breaking one of the laws that prohibits transforming people into fatpires without council approval, leading to their dismissal, their status still grants them influence and respect within the fatpire community.
Thus, the punishment that Candy will suffer will be that she cannot have any other prey than those she already has until the next evaluation in court in a year, that she must not be able to use these fire powers, except for this to defend in case of danger and to avoid accidental or arson fires, as well as deaths.
Eden will therefore have to monitor her every day to ensure she doesn't make any more mistakes, or else both Eden and Candy will be sentenced to death.
