I've been learning a little bit of Blender here and there and followed a tutorial on how to make donuts! I only made the donuts and the plate, everything else is something used from the Poliigon add on.

Playlist that I followed along with

I can't remember half of the things in the videos but I'm learning uwu

This looks really good! I was learning the same tutorial on YouTube a few years ago making donuts in Blender, but I never finished it. I wanna get back into it one day. Yours look so awesome!

Thank you!!

I was really scared and always thought "Blender is TOO HARD" and then suddenly, I've learned a lot and can almost do the donuts on my own XD

I was surprised how easy it was to use once you knew what to do! It takes time but it’s definitely worth it to make some awesome models and see what you can make

Big agree! I was showing my parents and that's basically how I explained it-it's not really HARD there's just a lot.

Congrats! I did the donut tutorial late last year. Here's my animation:

Blender Tutorial- Final Donut Render by DavidArdilla

On more than once occasion I came very close to giving up on learning Blender while I was following that tutorial. Honestly, I think it just comes down to the fact that Blender Guru isn't a good teacher.

After I did the donut tutorial I started on Grant Abbitt's tutorials, and I'm really learning and retaining a lot now. The difference being that Abbitt is an actual teacher and it shows in his lessons.

Here's his Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@grabbitt
His tutorials on his Youtube page tend to be old and even dated in some cases.

I bought both his beginner and advance Blender courses on Gamedev.tv  I've posted some of my finished work from his tutorials in this pool:

The good news is that his beginner and advanced course bundles are currently on sale:

https://www.gamedev.tv/bundles/beginner-blender-artist-...

and

https://www.gamedev.tv/bundles/advanced-blender-artist-...

These are really worth it, especially at the discounted price.

Honestly, I had sooo much ease working side-by-side with Blender Guru. I only had to rewind a few times where I wasn't paying attention. I've obv not worked alongside any other tutorials, but I'm not against them, of course. I'll def look at the ones linked ^^/

I also rendered a video but keep forgetting to actually make it into a video LMAO I made a duck and some water the other day (All by myself, I might add!) but I still have a loooong way to go uwu

Hey, do you think you might ever want to work together on a tutorial simultaneously? Perhaps help each other to learn Blender techniques?

Pick a few beginner tutorials that you'd like and we can narrow it down to one to try together.
