I am so grateful and full of calmness/happiness & joy ๐Ÿ˜Š

After a long period of preparation - the first more concrete ideas came at the end of 2022/beginning of 2023 - the great Quillu created me as the anthropomorphic martial arts wild rabbit AiLe in a total of three versions: one for Chinese martial arts, one for Japanese martial arts and one as NSFW - here we have the Japanese martial arts version :)

The path that led to the realization of myself as an anthropomorphic wild rabbit was not initially focused on this animal at all, but surprisingly led away from the first (childhood) ideas of a fox, panther, cat or horse as a reference animal. In the background are cultural-historical-popular-cultural references such as Richard Adam's Watership Down, especially the RPG series Ironclaw/Jadeclaw and more.

AiLe & Japanese martial arts:
“Standing in the dojo of Suigetsu
Slashing at the flowers of emptiness” (Tesshu - quoted in Stevens, 1989, 21).

Suigetsu - in simple terms, the reference to the moon and water with reflection in the water - can be found in various places/schools of Buddhism and martial arts (see Hall, 2012: 472f.; Stevens, 1989: 126, 153ff.).

And according to the Internet: “In the Japanese martial arts, there is a concept called ‘Suigetsu’, which is highly valued by many martial artists. Suigetsu' literally means 'water' and 'moon'.
The origin of 'Suigetsu' is a poem written by Tsukahara Bokuden, the master swordsman, about 500 years ago: ใ€Œๆ˜ ใ‚‹ใจใ‚‚ๆœˆใ‚‚ๆ€ใฏใšๆ˜ ใ™ใจใ‚‚ๆฐดใ‚‚ๆ€ใฏใฌๅบƒๆฒขใฎๆฑ ใ€ The meaning of the poem is: “The moon has no intention of reflecting itself in the water; it simply does. The water does not intend to reflect the moon; it simply does. The term 'Suigetsu' refers to this relationship and the nature of existence between the water and the moon.”

Thank you - sadly, I had not the opportunity to shoot a Daikyu bow until now, but maybe chance will come :)
