Well, there's just something about this picture that makes me still like it quite a lot. Even six months later. I had to color it. It HAD to be done. Plus, I had some new techniques that I wanted to tinker with and refine and so forth. Needless to say... I'm quite happy with them. So happy in fact that I'm still in something of shock that I actually colored this. Which is very rare that I impress myself with anything that I've arted.
I may have gone a touch crazy with the attention to detail now that I think about it. You know, putting wood grain on the spear, rope fibers in the rope, fish in the ocean... yeeeeaaaaa. I don't care. It looks sweet. And the feathers were surprisingly fun to color as well. Did NOT see that one coming.
Anyway, here we have my mate, Lightning returning from the tropical ocean with some fresh fish for dinner. Because... y'know... sharks love fish. License plates too.
Total working time: Original line art: hour to an hour and a half roughly. Coloring: Seven hours. Give or take. I forgot to see what time I started. Overall: Somewhere in the vicinity of 8-10 hours total.
