Lapis tinkers with all sorts of things tech-wise whenever it strikes her fancy, her personal spaces tending to have tech of all kinds and levels all over the place with various purposes, every level of tech being interesting to bring to its limits, mixing with other completely different technology, going a bit mad engineer from time to time...
Really, it's basically her major hobby, from simple mechanical contraptions to nanotech, it's all interesting for her to toy with, and as for ideas? Well, random trends are as good a place as any for inspiration, like 'Mermay', resulting in her making a mermaid tail of sorts, leaning a bit more on nanotech and such in this instance for something minimally intrusive, even letting her breathe just fine~!
