His sense of honor wouldn't allow him to stand by and watch as a tinkaton was about to kill someone by surprise who wasn't even injured, even if the pawniard was from the rival faction in this territory dispute. But attacking the tinkaton breaks a non-aggression treaty or something his side has with them, risking a war now?
