There will be four ways to start a character. First there is a premade origin character. There are 6 of them in total: Cyril, a male human soldier, Eldar, a male elf cleric, Nemina, a female Catris ranger, Shaki, a female kobold rogue, Luhol, a female goblin Druid, and Marg, a male gnoll barbarian. Then, there is a custom Thimbleborne character. There are 10 races for this option: Elf, Orc, Catris (a kind of cat species), Poron (a kind of hippo species), Kobold, Goblin, Gnoll, Daru (a kind of deer species), Lupidore (a kind of canine species), and Cycloptile, (a species of furred cyclops lizards). There are 12 starting classes, all of which can be used as dual-class classes for non-Thimbleborne characters: Barbarian, Bard, Cleric, Druid, Fighter, Monk, Paladin, Ranger, Rogue, Sorcerer, Warlock, and Wizard.
The custom Thimbleborne's name before entering a custom name is Tor, regardless of race or Gender.
Then, there is a custom human character, freshly isekai'd! They have the following starting classes: Scout, Soldier, Scientist, Grenadier, Heavy, Engineer, Medic, Sniper, Spy, (pardon me for possibly ripping off something else, whose name I cannot disclose for legal reasons but that you can probably figure out).
The custom human's name before entering a custom name is Ash, regardless of Gender.
Finally, there is something called the Shadowling. This option is limited to a race and starting class exclusive to it, but its name appearance, and gender are customizable. The Shadowling is the only non-human to undergo isekai. What's more is that they cannot remember anything prior to arriving. Their exclusive starting class is the Lancer, and the name of their race is unknown, but resembles a humanoid horse with lizard-like scales.
The Shadowling's name before entering a custom name is Yinulo, regardless of Gender.
How the game starts out depends on which of the 4 starting methods you choose, and if you choose an origin character, each origin character will have a different opening.
I will most likely add a name generator for custom characters and Shadowlings to help with choosing accurate names, and yes, the names generated will be specific for each race, but you may choose whether you want a masculine, feminine, or neutral name depending on the naming conventions for that species.
All origin characters are able to become companions as long as you didn't choose them as your player character. There are also two companions that can only be companions and not player characters: Lyra, a female Lupidore Paladin, and Miko, a male Daru Sorcerer.
There are also hirelings of course, and they are the only ones able to join the player's party that can have NPC-exclusive classes. NPC-exclusive/Hireling-exclusive classes include Acolyte, Adept, Archer, Aristocrat, Assassin, Berserker, Champion, Gladiator, Knight, Mage, and Warrior. (Note that all knight NPCs, Hirelings included, are accompanied by an extra squire NPC.)
And that's all I've got for now! Wish me luck, then?
