Sunday
Nick was in the living room, playing with his PokeBlocks by building a small house with them. His attention was grabbed by the loud ringing of the home phone that sat on the wall.
“I’ve got it!” said Ranae who had slithered into the living room and used her vines to grab the phone. “Hello, Ranae Marbette speaking!” On the other side of the line was Randa.
“Hey, I was just wondering about one thing… could my daughter come over for a short playdate? It won’t be long since I have to head out and do some shopping. She really wants to see her new friend.” said the mandibuzz.
“Sure Randa, that’s fine with me. I’m sure he’ll appreciate it!” said the grass serpent as her lips curved upwards.
“Great, I’ll see you in twenty minutes!” said the dark vulture as she ended the call.
The shiny pup titled his head, curious about who his mother was talking to, watching as she used her vines to put the phone book. He toddled over to her and sat down on the floor.
“Who was that momma?” asked Nick.
“It was Ritha’s mother, she’s bringing your new friend over to play for a good bit.” said Ranae.
Nicholas began wagging his tail rapidly, his eyes filled with abundant excitement. It’s been quite a while since they became friends over their Christmas vacation in the Alola region, and was looking forward to seeing her again.
“Yay! Ritha is coming!” exclaimed the pup.
“I’m glad you’re excited, sweetie.” said the serperior as she decided to check the baby’s diaper by using one of her vines to pull back on the front a bit, taking a glance. “Looks like my little puppy needs a diaper change!”
Nick chuckled a little bit as his mother grabbed him with her vines, and slithered to the upstairs bathroom with him. Getting him changed into a new diaper, and planting a gentle kiss on his head.
The pup giggled as his mother picked him up once again and brought him back to the living room, where Angelina was watching television on the couch. It was some kind of comedy show.
“Hey mom, what’s popping?” the grass snake asked.
“Nick’s new friend is coming over for a bit. He’s quite excited about this.” said Ranae as she placed the shiny riolu next to her daughter on the couch.
“Is that so?” asked Angelina as she turned towards her little brother. “I hope it’s a good one, even if it's short.” as she playfully tickled his stomach with her vines. Watching as he laughed.
His sister stopped tickling him for a bit, as she gave the pup a gentle hug while grabbing the television remote with her left vine. The grassy snake let go of her baby brother and looked towards the tv, switching it over to Alphabet Avenue.
As the introduction for the show played, the little fighting-type quickly turned his head and directed his eyes to the screen. It was an episode focused on the alphabet, which Nick had learned mostly about during his time at the orphanage. He still had trouble saying the entire thing at once.
“Yay Alphabet Avenue!” the pup exclaimed.
The little baby sat next to his sister while watching the episode, which was quite informative. For an educational kids show that is. It started with the camera slowly zooming on a scene of Benny and Terry eating at a small diner with a grimer named Gillian.
All three of them looked towards the camera, giving a friendly smile to all those watching the episode on their televisions.
“Hey kiddos, and welcome back to Alphabet Avenue!” said Terry.
“We’re just having lunch with our friend Gillian, he’s a grimer who likes to clean up trash cans and keep the streets clean.” Benny explained.
“That’s right, and you should always remember to pick up any trash and throw it away in the proper bins, making it easier for those who have to sort it. Remember children… the word trash starts with the letter ‘T’ and it has a ‘tuh’ sound to it.” said the grimer.
A big letter ‘T’ appeared on screen for about ten seconds before it slowly faded away with a sparkly fx effect.
“Ooooo!” said Nick as he clapped his paws.
Angelina chuckled to herself as her little brother enjoyed the episode, giving him a gentle pat on the back with her grassy leaf hands.
Once the episode had ended, she picked up her little brother and placed him on the ground next to his toys. Watching as he went back to playing with his toy blocks for the time being.
His sister headed off to the kitchen to grab a healthy snack, waiting for Ritha to arrive with her mother. Ranae was reading a book at the dining room table, occasionally adjusting her reading glasses with her vines.
After twenty minutes had passed, a loud knock was heard at the front door of the house while Nick was riding around in his toy jeep. Angelina shouted “I got it!” as she ran towards the door and twisted the door knob using her vines.
Ritha and her mother Randa were standing in front with friendly grins upon their faces, the grass snake smiled back and said “Welcome, it’s good to see you two!”
The little dark-type bird was wearing a pink skirt with a pink and black sparkling bow that she got for Christmas, while her mother was donning a dark-pink shirt with a gray skirt lined with swirl patterns.
“Good afternoon, Angie!” said the vulture.
“Hello Miss Angelina!” said the vullaby.
“Come on in, my little brother is playing in the living room.” said Angelina as she escorted them inside.
Ritha looked around at the inside of the house, amazed at what the appearance of the interior was like. She was guided to the living room while the Mandibuzz sat at the dining room table.
Nick was playing with some toy cars when he saw his new friend enter the room. He began to happily wag his tail.
“Ritha!” shouted the pup as he quickly toddled over.
“Hey Nick, my new friend!” said the vullaby as she gave him a hug. “It’s good to see you!”
“Ahuh!” said the fighting-type. “Good to see you as well!”
The dark-type bird watched as her new friend pushed over his Mini Black Truck that he enjoyed driving around the house. He wanted to share his toy vehicle with them. Ritha was rather impressed and proceeded to ask “Can I sit in it?”
“Yes!” exclaimed Nick as he watched her climb into it.
She observed the interior of the small vehicle, looking at the cool design that it had. For all the toys she had, the little bird may have been a little jealous in her mind. But otherwise, they were pleased that their new friend was willing to share their toys with them.
Ritha pushed her talons on the gas pedal in the electric vehicle, and was surprised to see how fast it could go within a second. The little dark-bird found this to be very impressive.
“Woah, I like this!” said the dark flying-type.
Angelina entered the living room and said “How about I take you guys to the backyard where you can drive it without running into anything? Also, it can seat up to two people, I’ve read over the instructions before.”
“Yes please!” said Ritha.
“Yay!” exclaimed Nick.
Ritha exited the toy vehicle and watched as Nick’s big sister came and picked it up with her vines, bringing it towards the sliding door that led into the backyard. Both kiddos followed behind her.
The grass snake put the toy vehicle down for a second and used her vines to open the glass sliding door to the backyard, picking up the small black truck once again. Randa watched with a smile as they headed out.
“Ah…. It certainly feels rather different to not have my daughter causing trouble anymore. I encouraged it because of my past, I was always picked on by the bigger kids in middle school. So I became a bully and got back at them for what they did to me. They reaped the seeds that they sewed” said Randa.
“Interesting, that explains how your daughter was like, way before she changed herself on the inside.” said Ranae.
“Yes, my teenage years were certainly intriguing. I suppose I was a bit rebellious.” said the vulture.
“Weren’t we all at some point?” asked the grass serpent.
Both of them chuckled for a moment as they watched Angelina close the glass sliding door, after Ritha and Nick went through.
After stepping off the deck and into the grass of the backyard, Nick’s big sister set the toy down. The toy black truck wasn’t very heavy, it was meant to be lightweight for easier transportation.
“There ya go, I’ll watch you guys to make sure nothing goes wrong.” said Angelina as she watched Ritha and her little brother get into the vehicle. Both of the young children strapped on their seatbelts, making sure it was nice and secure.
Once they were ready, the vullaby slowly stepped on the gas pedal and started driving around the grassy backyard. She gradually increased the speed as she adjusted to the controls.
“Weeee!” exclaimed the pup.
“This is so much fun!” said Ritha.
“It sure is!” said Nick.
The grassy snake watched them drive around the backyard, making sure they didn’t get injured while they did so. Though, the likelihood of getting hurt while operating a small vehicle like that would probably be low.
***
After twelve minutes of driving around, Ritha stopped the vehicle after hearing a familiar and audible rumbling in her stomach. Nick looked over in confusion when the same thing happened to him seconds later.
“Oh boy, it’s time!” said Ritha.
“Yay!” said Nick.
Both of the kids chuckled as they lifted their padded rears a bit, and grunted to themselves as they prepared to answer the call of nature.
“Looks like they’ll need some diaper changes soon.” said Angelina as she chuckled while watching them.
FRRRRRT! BLORT! FLRT! BLRT!
The back of their diapers expanded outwards as they deposited some medium-sized loads, emitting a sigh of relief afterwards. Ritha and Nick sat back down, feeling their mushy bottoms squish against the seat of the toy truck.
“Oh…. I really like this feeling!” said the vullaby.
“I do too….” said the little fighting-type.
As they were about to get back to driving around, Angelina approached them and chuckled a bit from the odorous stench they created. The dark flying type was impressed that she wasn’t disgusted by their dirty diapers.
“Come on kiddos, time for a diaper change!” said the grassy snake as she watched the two step out of the vehicle.
“How are you used to this kind of stench?” asked Ritha.
“After changing Nick’s diapers for a while, I just got used to it.” said Angelina as she chuckled.
“Ahuh!” said Nick as he giggled.
Nick’s big sister led them back inside the house, just as Randa was about to go outside to get her daughter. It was about time to do some shopping, and she didn’t want to be late to do so.
“Ah, just in time. I’m about to head out soon.” said Randa.
“Okay, I figured that I’d change their diapers since they needed one,” said the grass snake.
“Yeah… I can really tell by the stench and the bulkiness, it seems like your little brother is quite the diaper filler.” said the vulture as she laughed a bit, giving her daughter a gentle pat on the head. “Don’t worry about Ritha, I’ll change her when I get home. I’ll need to go grab some coupons anyway before heading out for a shopping trip.”
“Alright then, that’s fine with me. But yeah, Nickster can certainly fill his diapers quite a lot. I think baby fighting-types are like that.” said Angelina.
Ritha looked at her friend and gave him a quick hug before going over to her mother, she said to the pup, “Thanks for sharing your rideable toy truck with me, I really enjoyed driving it around the backyard! I’ll see you around, my new friend!”
“Bye bye!” said Nick as he waved towards the vullaby.
The three watched as the vullaby and mandibuzz made their way towards the front door of the house, and opened it up. Walking out of the house, and heading back towards their own.
While it was a rather short playdate, Nick was glad that he got to spend time with his new friend. Seeing Ritha being happy was enough to satisfy him, especially since he wanted to share his Toy Black Truck with her.
“Okay Nickster, time for a diaper change before you get a serious rash.” his sister said as she picked up with her grassy hands. Bringing him upstairs to get cleaned up and changed into a new diaper.
It only took a couple of minutes to do so, since the grassy snake had changed the pup many times before. It became a second nature to her, which would come in handy when she got older.
Following that, Angelina threw out the used diaper and cleaned her grass hands before she carried her little brother to his crib and set him down for a nap. She tucked him in and watched as the pup fell asleep, holding his audino plushie.
“Have a nice nap, Nickster.” said the grassy snake as she turned off the light, watching as the automatic night-line turned on. She then exited the room and headed downstairs to watch some television in the living room.
