L: Progressing through the levels of a video game-style world together, Archen and Cyndaquil eventually come to a type of hazard they haven't seen up to this point: Quicksand.
Archen: "Hmm... This might be annoying..."
N: Cyndaquil: Sure are a lot of quicksand is this level, this one swirling sand looks like it can swallow us in seconds
L: "At least I can fly, but I can't carry you like that... We've gotta just go around or something, I guess."
N: Cyndaquil: Yeah, You can barely fly at all
*They continue through the level as they see a Pyramid surrounded by quicksand*
Cyndaquil: Getting inside won't be so easy
L: "...Welp. Guess we pretty much have to go through the quicksand to get there. Hopefully it'll be easy to not sink, at least."
N: Cyndaquil: Wait, I can see a path leading up to the Pyramid. We just need to find a way to get over there
*The two haven't notice that they are sinking in the slower version of quicksand*
L: "Maybe there's some kind of path under the quicksand that we can't see... There must be some kind of hint somewhere."
N: Cyndaquil: Maybe you didn't see it, the path is right over there, we just can't get pass this large dune that is blocking our way... wait. why is everything getting taller all the sudden?
L: "Yeah, I didn't. And yeah, it's like we're..." Archen looks down, gasping as he notices he and Cyndaquil are partway under the sand. "W-we're sinking!"
N: *They are both knee deep*
Cyndaquil: W-Whoa, we are... seems to be much slower then the swirling one we saw earlier
L: "Sure is... This is hardly even a threat. We can probably just mostly ignore this." Archen starts trying to get himself higher in the sand.
N: *They did so by jumping*
Cyndaquil: We can just jump to escape, that's good. Not sure about the fast sinking version. Best stay away from those just in case
L: "Yeah, might be too fast for this to work, so I guess that kind is probably still a threat."
N: *They both blushed from watching the body slowly sinks into the soft quicksand*
Cyndaquil: This slow quicksand feels quite nice actually
L: "It really does... Didn't want to say anything in case you thought I was weird, but it does feel good to sink in this..."
N: Cyndaquil: Yes, I do admit that I enjoy this. Should we just... well, sink in a bit
L: "Yeah, we should! Maybe not all the way under though, not sure jumping out will work that far down."
N: Cyndaquil: I think we'll be fine, but just to be saft we'll jump at chest deep
*They sink to their waist*
L: "That sounds good, yeah. Who would've thought that sinking in quicksand felt so good..."
N: Cyndaquil: Yeah, this almost feels like a relaxing sand spa
L: "We should definitely do this more than this one time, see if we can find ways to make it even better..."
N: Cyndaquil: Yeah, this feels good to our body
*They sink to their belly*
L: "You know, think I might be okay with going fully under after all. Already feels good here, so imagine how it'll be when we're below it...~"
N: Cyndaquil: Yeah, that underwater death we got earlier felt kinda good. maybe this one is better
L: "Sure did... Kinda want to revisit that too at some point, but just here is good for now."
N: *They stop sinking at chest deep*
Cyndaquil: Oh, I think we just stop sinking
L: "Yeah, I can feel something solid down there. That sucks... Although, that other quicksand over there might work..."
N: Cyndaquil: At least this one will make a nice safe sand spa to just sleep in and relax, Let's try exploring the Pyramid first
*They repeating jump to get out of the slow quicksand*
L: Archen gets out without issue. "May as well, we've already come this far in this level."
N: *After working their way around the desert they made it inside the Pyramid and sees a large pool of quicksand ahead*
Cyndaquil: Whoa, check it out
L: "Man oh man, that's a lot... Wonder how deep it is..."
N: Cyndaquil: This one might be bottomless, a deadly version of the slow quicksand we just sink earlier
L: "That'd make sense. Want to test it out, see if that's true?"
N: Cyndaquil: Yes, I do want to sink into this
*They both jump into the large pool of slow quicksand*
Cyndaquil: O-Oh, this one feels much softer then last time
L: "It does, I bet it's gonna be even better to sink in this!"
N: Cyndaquil: Yes, I'm already enjoying this so far
*They tread farther away from land as sink to their knees*
Cyndaquil: We must make our way to the center of this lovely sand
L: "Definitely, just in case it's deeper in the middle. Hopefully deep enough..."
N: Cyndaquil: Most definitely, I hope we don't drown instantly when we sink completely under. I want to feel it as much as we can
L: "We had breath meters before, no way this would be instant with that already having been a thing. At least, I hope so..."
N: Cyndaquil: I hope so too
*They sink to their waist*
L: "Kind of wish this didn't take so long... Like, we've got the safe stuff outside if we just want to relax."
N: Cyndaquil: I'm sure it will worth it in the end
*They almost reach the center as they sink to their belly*
Cyndaquil: Kinda hard to move around when you're sinking deep in this
L: "Ah, we don't really need to move. The quicksand's gonna do its thing, we can just relax for now."
N: *They stop wading through as they reach the center*
Cyndaquil: We struggle our way to the center, It feels even nicer at this spot
L: "Definitely worth the effort of forcing our way here!" Archen smiles down at the quicksand slowly pulling him under.
N: *They sink to their chest as Cyndaquil smiles*
Cyndaquil: I can't feel the bottom this time, perfect
L: "Hopefully it stays that way, but I bet it will this time!"
N: Cyndaquil: A nice bottomless quicksand to sink under blissfully
L: "Wonder if this is gonna be the only level with quicksand... Well, probably not. I bet there'll be all sorts of different places to sink..."
N: Cyndaquil: Maybe, better make the best of it just to be sure
*They watch themselves sink to their neck*
L: "Not much longer now.~ I know it's gonna feel even better once we're under it!" Archen starts tilting his head back.
N: *Cyndaquil tilts his head back*
Cyndaquil: Once we sink under, we jump back at neck deep so we can talk about how good it feels, does that sound good?
L: "...Yeah, that's fine. THEN we stay under, right?"
N: Cyndaquil: Yes, we'll stay under next time
L: "Alright, here we go with the test dive, any second now...~"
N: *Their face slowly slip under as their nose remains*
L: In the last few seconds, Archen takes a few deep breaths, and holds one just before going under the surface.
N: *Cyndaquil toke his deep breath before going under, soon after they jump back at the surface*
Cyndaquil: Wow, that felt amazing. I even notice the air meter for a second
L: "So glad it's not just immediate death! Getting to be down there for a long time is gonna be great~"
N: Cyndaquil: Yes, sinking under there felt so good, I feel like that I... need to drown~
*Cyndaquil blushed deeply as they tilt their head*
L: "Yep... Time to get some sand in our lungs~" Archen tilts his head back again.
N: *Cyndaquil lift his one arm up*
Cyndaquil: I love sinking in soft quicksand, I want to revisit this level again soon~
L: Archen happily lifts a wing as well. "Definitely gonna be coming back here, and probably more than once!"
N: Cyndaquil: Good thing we have infinite lives in this video game world, this is so heavenly
*They struggle to keep their mouth above the surface as they enjoy watch themselves acting helplessly*
Cyndaquil: Ohh, this is it, it's time to drown blissfully~
L: "Can't wait to start breathing it iblblbl!" Archen can't quite finish his sentence as his mouth goes under, but he doesn't mind.
N: Cyndaquil: Yes, let's drown in sweet mmmph...~
*Cyndaquil mouth goes under as their nose remains*
L: Archen breathes through his nose while he can, then holds his breath again once he can't, happily resigning himself to sink under and not come back up.
N: *Cyndaquil toke his last breath before sinking completely under as he happily let himself sink farther and make no attempt to resurface, their breath meter appears*
L: Watching his breath meter drain, Archen blows some bubbles, waiting for when he'll be forced to breathe.
N: *Cyndaquil calmly blow bubbles, not caring about any danger of drowning as he is eager to drown in warm and soft quicksand*
L: Archen keeps on bubbling, hoping he'll start drowning at about the same time as Cyndaquil.
N: *Their breath meter are halfway drained, they are getting more eager the more air it drains*
L: The growing feeling of needing to breathe is just making Archen enjoy himself more, knowing what it's going to lead to.
N: *Cyndaquil loving every second the air drains more and more*
L: Soon, Archen starts having trouble holding his breath, but he keeps blowing bubbles regardless, speeding up the process.
N: *They both look so ecstatic from seeing their air meter nearly empty*
L: Archen gets ready to take the deepest breath he can as soon as he's forced to start sucking in quicksand.
N: *Their air meter are fulling drained as they force to inhale sand, it was an amazing feeling for the two eager sinkers*
L: As much as he tries, Archen can't completely fill his lungs before he starts to choke, but he doesn't mind even as he instinctively thrashes around.
N: *Cyndaquil was flailing around from drowning which makes him more excited as he never felt this good in his life*
L: Archen gurgles out the last of his air before taking another deep gasp, this time entirely filling his lungs and even managing to hold this sandy breath for a couple seconds. He then just coughs it back out again, panting and gasping.
N: *Their health are nearly drained as both hang on what little strength they have left to endure their blissful blub*
L: While Archen wishes he could've drowned longer, he accepts that it's nearly over, forcing down a few last gasps while his strength lasts.
N: *As they both reach the slither of health they both cough out one huge bubble before fully drowned under the quicksand as they smiled deeply*
L: Seconds later, each of the drowned Pokemon find themselves at the previous checkpoint, unharmed as normal. "Man... Everything about that felt incredible!"
N: Cyndaquil: Yes, this is the best death we have in the video game world
L: "Even beats that earlier water drowning... Ha, who would've thought dying could feel so good?"
N: Cyndaquil: Yeah, being in a video game world is awesome. I can't wait to see more levels
L: "I doubt anything's gonna beat that, but... We can get some health upgrades, and come back and drown for even longer!"
N: Cyndaquil: Yes, that will be much better for sure
*They both continue through the level and not long after they miss the jump and fallen back into the quicksand which they now pretend to act perilous for extra bit of fun, it's safe to say that this will be their favorite level*
